The report I heard on the Fan960 is that the Als did not like the results of his elbow surgery.

Stamps hired Tony Missick as DB coach today
“Tony was a guest coach with us during training camp last year and was a great help to our staff,” said Hufnagel. “I really liked his communication skills and football knowledge and I’m confident he will do a great job in this position.”
Missick spent nine seasons coaching in the Arena Football League — as a head coach in Cincinnati and Norfolk and as a defensive coordinator with Richmond, Norfolk, Columbus, Cape Fear, Everett and Austin. Missick was most recently the assistant head coach and linebackers coach at Saint Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Va.

The missing piece to the Stamps’ coaching puzzle has been placed, with the announcement Missick has been added to the staff as defensive backs coach for the 2011 season. He replaces Corey Chamblin, who left this past week to become Hamilton’s defensive co-ordinator.

That stinks but it's the reality of the business. Most of these guys usually end up coming back by the time NFL training camp get's into full swing.

Good for him because he deserved it the way he played last season. Too bad for the Stamps because Johnson is becoming to be the top DLine for this team. The only thing is, the only position we can afford to lose a player is in DLine position as the Stamps have a surplus of good ones.

Finally some good news. Huff said this morning on the SN 960 that he expects to hear back from D. Anderson's agent today in that they are close and hope to have something done this week.

Just as an add-on he also said he had been in talks with Chevvy and Claybrookes. Claybrookes is back in town today and leaving on Wednesday so Huff said he was hoping to get him locked down before he had to leave.

Stamps making "major announcement" this afternoon.
My guess is Dwight Anderson and/or Claybrooks is re-signed. Al Cameron is guessing Thellwell announcing retirement.

I've met Thelwell and he really is one of the class acts in the CFL. A totally nice guy that just loved to play the game and be around his team-mates.

Cahoon hangs em up!
Great guy and a great player...
Ben Cahoon, the CFL's all-time leading receiver who has spent his entire 13-year CFL career with the Montreal Alouettes, has decided to hang up his cleats.
The 38-year-old made the announcement on Wednesday.
"My time in Montreal has been magical beyond my wildest childhood dreams," said Cahoon. "It has been such an honour to put on the helmet and pads of the Montreal Alouettes for the last 13 years. My life and the lives of my family will forever be enriched because of our time in Canada.

As a Stamps fan, I am very glad to see Cahoon gone.
As a CFL/Football fan, that is a pretty major loss.

As a Stamps fan, I'd rather see Chris Getzlaff retire than Cahoon.

I spoke to Thelwell and Pilon at the Car Show I guess 2 years ago and I asked him if he will be returning the next season(which was last season) and he said he will but after that he will be done. I guess he was serious during our conversation. He is a very nice guy and really down to earth person.

The Riders finally make it official, Richie Hall is returning as Defensive Coordinator.

And, the Craig Dickenson will be the new Special Teams Coordinator. He spent 7 years with the Stamps, and was an assistant special teams coordinator for the Oakland Raiders
http://rodpedersen.blogspot.com/2011/02/curveball.html
Quote:
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today that Craig Dickenson will join the Green and White coaching staff and take over as Special Teams Coordinator.
Dickenson spent last season with the NFL's Oakland Raiders as assistant special teams coordinator. This was Dickenson's second stint in the NFL as he spent two years in San Diego as a special teams assistant for the Chargers starting in 2000.
Highly regarded for his special team schemes, Dickenson spent seven seasons with the Calgary Stampeders where he served as their special teams coordinator for five and worked with the running backs and receivers in his first two years with the team. He also spent one season with the Montreal Alouettes as running backs coach in 2003 before returning to the Stamps.
