The Riders are expected not to renew the contract of special teams coordinator Jim Daley. Thank Goodness.

Stamps also lose their DB Coach Corey Chamblin to the Ti-cats, he's going to be their new defensive coordinator.

Since they have a vacancy at DB Coach, what about Eddie Davis, as far as I know he makes Calgary his year round home, and was pretty much an on field coach in his later years with the Riders. I'm not sure if he would ever get into coaching though, I don't remember what he thought of that when he retired.

Al Cameron said that Hufnagel already had a guy in mind for the DB job he just had to wait for Hamilton to officially announce the decision.
Not sure if it is Davis or not but it seems the new coach is decided on already.

Davis played in Calgary before Sask did he not?
Edit: yes from 1996-2000
One of my all-time favorite Riders. I hope he lands the job.

Whoever is the new coach will have a lot of depth at his command. This team showed intriguing secondary depth last year. They didn't lose us the game, well perhaps lysack should have fell on it instead of trying to run it in himself. To each their own, but I'll be happy to see him fully transition outta here. And if this incoming coach, could manage to get DA to see that his expressive emotions do not help in the playoffs.

I think the new guy won't be from the CFL.

I see some unconfirmed reports today (Stampeder players on Facebook) that Brandon Browner has signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Not a huge shock, but sad to see him leave the Stamps if indeed true. Good luck in Seattle Brandon.

We'll see if he stays there. I've heard other coaches say that he can barely read the playbook let alone retain the information contained within.

TSN has him being offered a contract. its going to be interesting to see how many players leave for the NFL. From what i'm reading the lack of a CBA has alot of teams in teh NFL warry of offering guaranteed money to people that may not even make thier team. if you Browner do you take the risk when you have a guarantted salary and starting job in the CFL? We'll see, i have no doubt he deserves to be a shot in the NFL based on his talents.
Its a blow for the Stamps though, and means they basically have to bring back DA which i'm not sure i'm thrilled with. The depth is there, but Browner has a huge impact on every game.

Among many other things, Seattle needs a bigger corner, period, and has for years now. As long as he can keep up speed wise (assuming his ankle is 100%), and get into NFL shape and discipline, he has a good chance of sticking.
Recall, the Seahawks changed pretty much everything on the roster other then starting QB, 270 or so roster moves from when Carroll took over a calender year ago. So shuffling in and out players at a pace of just about 5 a week in the last 52 weeks. Given his 5 moves with coaching staff today, I expect that trend to continue through the next 8 months of the offseason.

Al Cameron just tweeted that the contract will be signed in the morning. Huge loss for the Stamps imo. Keepnig Anderson just became priority #1 with Archibald right behind.

I can't imagine Browner sticking down there. He won't be able to get away with the bump and run contact against superior NFL receivers without getting severely burned and he's a poor tackler. IMO Anderson is the better player so I hope that Huff can retain his services.

The word is the Stamps could only afford to keep one of the CBs, so the decision is easy now.

Here's more from Al Cameron's twitter:
Alouettes have voided the Labinjo trade; evidently they didn't like what they saw from his physical

The FAN 960 - Calgary Sports Radio
Stamps announce that Mike Labinjo deal with Als for future considerations has been voided. Head Coach and G.M. John Hufnagel says Montreal had 1 week to finalize the
agreement as part of trade stipulations and they decided not to go ahead with it. As
a result Labinjo is back on active roster and Hufnagel says he'll decide how to proceed

What the heck did the Alouettes expect when the traded for Labinjo?
The Stamps were dealing him because he was lazy and out of shape.
Did they expect that somehow that was going to change in a week because he was dealt to Montreal.

Stamps have lost Tom Johnson today as well. He signed on with the Saints, 3 years for 1.8 mill.
