I predict - May 1st - It's a Saturday and many will be camping.

I blame you for driving my car into the ditch.
Also Toyota, for giving me a small, light car that can be blown half a football field by a sudden gust of wind.

There were brownouts in the Saddledome as well last night. People were lined up at the Fan Attic to buy merchandise (35% off) and they announced "cash only". An audible groan was heard.

Pure packed ice on the #1 Highway this morning east of Calgary - yet some were still flying by at 120 KM/H+ some people have a death wish if you ask me, or are just plain better drivers than me.

No snow last night southwest of the city . . . . . and I drove to Priddis last night for a meeting and didn't see any snow there either.
Sucks to be everyone else!!!

In the city the roads are completely fine. I was going 120 (deerfoot), then I catch up to the people going 90.
It was much better than I thought though, no stoppages and I got to school early so all is well.

There's a crazy icy patch right west of Chestermere, really bad. Two cars in the ditch by it (one hit a big sign) and I'm normally confident driving on almost everything and this patch made me very nervous. Fortunately it was melting last time I drove over it.

It was 32C here on Tuesday, tonight there is a freeze warning.
But, looking forward, 20C tomorrow, 22 on Sunday and 23 on Monday.
Spring snow is the one single thing I absolutely do not miss about living in calgary.

I was driving on the north part of Stoney Trail last night near Panorama Hills, that was not fun. I literally could not see the car in front of me, and some guy decided to park his car on the side of the road to wait it out. I almost didn't see his flashing lights until it was too late. Good thing I was going grandma speed, but man was that a brutal drive.

If it makes anyone feel better about me posting about the snow storm...
So yesterday I took the day off. Bought some stuff, and came home. I put my stuff away ,mostly, then drove my car up on the ramps to change the oil. I like to let the oil drip out completely so I leave it up for an hour. Well I got busy setting up my new toy in the house and next thing I know i look outside and BAM! Snow storm. So I go outside to finish my oil change look under the car and oil is blowing over and missing the massive pan I bought. WTF! So I crawl under getting oil all over and I'm soaked to the bone. Changing oil in that weather is not a fun experience. The only thing that was fortunate was that I finished in time to drive to the train station for the game. Got there only to wait 45 mins do to power outages. So I left there and drove downtown in the super weather, thank the Kipprusoff I made it in with 8 mins to start.

Well, this past week it was between 80 and 88 here in DC, but today it is down to upper 60s low 70s. I really don't miss Calgary's weather.

So I was close. I said changing your tires instead changing your oil.
