We are so spoiled in Calgary. Back east in Ontario, where I'm from originally, they have to pay $ 2.00 per bag... and it probably won't be long before we'll have to pay the same out here.

How does that work if the previous week you didn't put any garbage out? I have always wondered that. Is it a maximum per week?

As I understand it (and this is what happened when I lived in Vancouver), you could go to certain places (ie - Safeway) and buy additional bag tags for a couple bucks or so, that would allow you to place more bags out.

Like I mentioned before.. we're spoiled here in Calgary! No bag limit!

my sister told me it is one bag per week..no matter what..calgary has the best garbage men in the world! in our last house they took as much as you put out and would even take grass clippings..when i lived in nanaimo i had a full bag of garbage once with a couple pounds of grass clippings in it and they left it !
