I am not a fan of having to form a raid to queue for these rated BG's..
I was under the impression I could log in, /random out a few and get some points.
Now I have to worry about actually knowing people to get a damn group. It will end up being more annoying than Arena.

This was the golden age of PVP, Turtle it just for the fun of farming the noobs. AV's that take weeks to play, so much fun.

Um, they said from the start that rated BGs would be just like getting a team rating in Arena. BGs are always infinitely more enjoyable with a group of people (...since you know, this is an MMO and all too), and entrusting your BG rating to random idiots across North America is a good way to ruin your rating.
If you don't have a group, you will not be pitted against people in groups. Pretty simple and the quality of play will follow suit.

Doing rated BG's with a random group of people would most likely cause you to put a gun in your mouth.

I'm actually quite excited for this expansion.
The dungeon finder has completely rekindled my interest in WoW. Blizz coming out and saying that they were unhappy with how everything was AoE faceroll makes me excited for the direction that they are taking in Cata.
Going to reroll myself and see some of the new 1-60 content (although not rolling as a new race yet).
The fact that you get PvP points at a reduced rate while doing PvE is wonderful - I've never been a huge PvP fan but I do want to try it out for fun, and this is a great way for me to do so. <--- beforehand, getting blown up for like 200k honor points before you have a set of gear was just such a huge barrier to entry.
Resubbed AGAIN. Blizzard has me by the balls.

Sucks to be you. Enjoy your fail game. I'll be here to laugh when the servers go down and all their changes completely imba the game all while glitches make the new raids not completable.

Feel free to continue to live in 2005. There was not one raid in Wrath of the Lich King that was not completable after the initial release. The only major glitch I can recall from a Wrath raid on release was the trash mobs before XT in Ulduar being ridiculously strong, and that was hotfixed in 24 hours. Good raids still found a way to beat them though and had the entire raid (non-hardmodes) cleared in a couple days.
Sucks to be you though, keeping your head in the sand and pretending the game hasn't changed at all or anything.

Geez, I recall trying to enter and instance for 30+ minutes before being let in, and groups of people all trying. That sucked. There were definitely a bunch of glitches for the first week, and a bunch that took weeks or months to disappear. I still don't know if they actually fixed everything or if things just fixed themselves after the initial re-subbing.

A massive crush of people all trying to enter a new raid when it comes out causes instability, but what Blaster is talking about it more along the lines of AQ40 or SSC where C'Thun or Lady Vashj were unkillable without exploiting.

Once again something 4 years ago he is bringing up to determine the apparently the game is fail. Blizzard does good work and this is the best MMO on the marketplace. Deal with it

No official release date, but people are pretty sure it will be in Q4 2011.

About two and a half years of playing very casually left me with a level 74 Hunter and a level 45 Paladin. I never joined a guild, never did a raid or battleground, and only went through one or two easy instances. Basically I played for a few hours on the odd weekend mornings.
I installed the game last weekend after about a 16 months of not playing. I kind of can't wait to get back into it, but after running my character around for about 20 minutes I was totally rusty and, well . . . lost.
Sometimes I wonder if there are other casual players out there. Perhaps WOW just isn't that kind of game . . . Whenever I mention to other people the progress I've made over such a long time, I am presented with utter disbelief.
Regardless, I look forward to my copy of Cataclysm arriving in the mail.

I'm not sure if any others can relate by my WOW experience was pretty good. The first 4-5 months were some of the most satisfying gaming I've ever experienced, football games included. Levelling my troll hunter to 70 was a treat. I loved grinding as my hunter and killing Allies.. I hated allies. Nothing gave me greater satisfaction than taking on groups of allies and slaughtering those kiddie losers.
But after hitting 70... the game becomes "meh" to me. Farming for the sake of farming, be it equipment or skills, wasn't something I wanted to do. The game felt like a job at that point.

Getting to the level cap is so much fun. Once you reach there you realize that the whole end game is just collecting rep and tokens to trade in for things.

Edit - No! No! I will not be dragged into an argument about WoW! I got out, that means I can just take pot shots from afar!

I played WoW a long time, and only just let my sub expire last month. I am so tempted by the storyline, but I won't let it suck me back in.
I raided hardcore, and it just eats up so much time.

I felt the same way with raiding and end game.
I play the game now for what i enjoy.
I play with friends and level characters, Try new things get all the professions.
I only have 2 lvl 80's and about 25 characters from lvl 10 - 60 as I was preparing for the cataclysm and the new leveling experience.
I had to change my playstyle cause Raiding/End Game takes to much time and effort.

You can always make new characters if you like the leveling process. The new azeroth is much more enjoyable for leveling as well. I won't miss fedex quests which take 30 minutes of traveling to do.

Simply put, casual gamers are looked upon and treated like trash. If you can enjoy the soloing stuff, stick with it. As for Raids, BGs and Dungeons......if you aren't tweaked out like a hardcore player, you can almost be guaranteed to take a mountain of abuse.
I always really, really liked WoW. It's the best MMO ever, Blizzard took excellent care of me as a customer, and the game's playability is amazing. Unfortunately, the general community is pretty much the biggest group of losers and a-holes on the planet today (I'm pretty sure they're all Canucks fans).
I finally re-subbed and played WotLK for a month......it was all the community exposure I needed to decide I won't be pursuing Cataclysm. Too bad, looks like awesome content.
