Holier than thou hyprocrites make up most of the best threads on CP....and I'm being serious. There's nothing better than coming on here and having someone tell me to "be a man" and go pay a ticket insetad of fighting it, or any other number of things regular folk get chastized on here for.

I fail to see how saying Cowboys is a dump makes anyone a hypocrite. Several posters have said they like it and quite a few have said they think it is a dump. Big deal. If you like to go there then good for you but don't pretend like you think the place is the classiest night club in town.
I don't know how someone can be a hypocrite for calling a place a dump. I think the Back Alley is a dump too, so what? At least when I go to the Back Alley everyone there knows it is a dump and appreciates it for the dump that it is.
If I was a hypocrite wouldn't that mean that secretly I think the place is beautiful? I don't think you know what hypocrite means, if you do then you are using the term incorrectly.
In fact I don't think anyone has said that people shouldn't be allowed to go to Cowboys or are losers if they do go, most of the discussion has been about the overall city/country wide perception of the place as being not a dump, when in reality it is. I for one don't care if people like Cowboys, I do however think they are losers if they think it is "the place to be" because it just isn't. It is a trashy, hick bar. There isn't anything wrong with that if you recognize it for what it is.
Take Ranchman's for example too. That place knows it is a trashy hick bar. I have been there 2 or 3 times and every time I've enjoyed it but I wouldn't tell anyone I was part of the center of Calgary nightlife just because I go to Ranchman's.

Well, maybe that's a stretch. 22 might be my lower limit now. But when you're that drunk, who cares, right?

Good thing I'm 23 this year.

God I hate Cadillacs. I stopped going when I ran into some of my parents friends there...we were all loserpissed, and it was just awkward. Only time I like getting drunk with old people camping and such. However, the drink prices can't be beat. When I came back from Calgary, we went to Caddies and I ordered a couple drinks and expected my 20 to be shot. When I got a 10 back, I was so happy...I honestly thought they made a mistake with the math.
Anyways, Geo's and BP's and the always classy Players Club for the win. Oh and of course I've gotta rep the Windsor.

The Windsor is probably my favorite place in Camrose. The week before I moved back to Calgary a few friends and I hit the Windsor for some Wednesday Karaoke. Needless to say, we rocked Cherry, Cherry like we were in Saving Silverman.

I have never been to Cowboys and am neither proud or ashamed of this.
But I think clubbing is kind of stupid, so I haven't experienced a lot of Calgary nightlife.
Seriously, whats so great about it? All my friends seem to love it, and its not like they get laid more often or anything like that, they just seem to enjoy dressing up like ######bags and going to perform mating dances for stuck up skanks. Plus the drinks are ridiculously expensive. I've had a couple good nights out clubbing, but by far I've had more fun and more memorable experiences just down at the pub over a few beers.

Caddies is still there, that place is like an institution. How about Old Cinema, whoa, now I'm showing my age. Oh, Camrose, I can't count on one hand the times I have had friends tasered/pepper sprayed there after punching female members of the CPS...

OCs is pretty much a strip club these days. Speaking of caddies my one buddy almost got in a fight after taking a picture of the worlds most epic femme mullet.

Poorly scripted and poorly acted, without a doubt.

So if the people that like Honky Tonks think that Cowboys is the place to be they are losers? How does one find the place to be in Calgary and become a winner?

Winners don't base their winning ways on going to the bar. The bar is just one of the venues in which they demonstrate their savvy.

I always enjoyed going and getting loser pissed at Cowboys. Then again, I'm an Edmontonian now...so take that for what it's worth.

Their 25 cent draft was made to get loser (or should I say Edmontonian) pissed. I think I've only ever been there on cheap draft nights.

What about those of us who like Cowboys, but think the reality show idea is ######ed?
