Some jackass drives down my street 3 or 4 times a night in Bankview. The music physically shakes my windows and pictures on my wall. I know where the assclown lives and have his license plate #. Any point in me reporting it to the cops?

Nah. Sugar in the gas tank is the key.
Or even better get under his car, drain the oil into a bucket. After it is done put the drain plug back in and take the oil with you. Within only a few KMs the next morning he will get the surprise of his life. His check oil light won't even have time to come on
People like him are annoying there is a time and a place for loud music and a residential street, 3 or 4 times a night, is not one of them!

Moreover, should they be beat down too for choosing to throw in some rock, funk, electronica, or metal?
Music is music, and some people enjoy it in super-high fidelity. As in, how the sounds come out of the speaker is as fundamentally important to the listening experience as the sound itself.
I love when people who have never listened to any kind of good recordings on any kind of good system argue about the merits of audiophilia.
Also, a lot of people in this thread have made comments like "how can you hear any of the other sounds over the bass?"
Please don't be so thick as to think that it sounds the same on the inside of the car as it does on the outside.

Are we even talking about the same thing?
Let me get this straight.... you blast classical music so loud while driving through public areas that people can hear it 3 blocks away, and when you are at a light, the people next to you can't hear their own music or conversations? Really?
Personally, I don't really care what kind of music it is. Anyone who does that is being inconsiderate and annoying, and most likely trying to attract attention.

Well, i don't quite go to that extreme, but, it did happen to me once where i had my music so loud i didnt' hear the ambulance coming up behind me. I felt like a major tool so, now if i'm blasting even just for 3 minutes while i listen to a wicked song i check my rear view constantly.
Generally i just don't blast blast. Just loud enough to satisfy, but again don't leave it like that.

AC/DC is the OPPOSITE of creative. dont get me wrong, some of their tunes are awesome, but they are as formula as one can get.
anyhow, i havent been able to stop cranking the new Metallica album. i especially enjoy stopping at a red light in my 4 door Jetta with my suit and tie on, windows open and "end of the line" or "all nightmare long" blasting (on my stock stereo). attention whore!

So I'm driving down 52nd street today, with the new Lacuna Coil cd blasting from the car, and I notice while waiting at a red light this guy in the car next to me is trying to get my attention. I turn the music down, and he asks who I was listening to and I tell him. He said they rock, so I apparently got someone else to potentially like Lacuna Coil as well.
So if you have a favorite band that's not really well known, just drive around blasting one of their cds from your vehicle.

I find these car stereos' owners to be attention/approval seekers when they blast it obnoxiously loud at intersections and residential areas. It is annoying somtimes, but its usually teenagers who do it I find...........

I have my stereo up pretty loud most of the time, but not to show off. I mean I'm normally singing along to something country-ish or rock and roll-ish, so mainly people just laugh at me.
