Seriously, someone like Johnson who is established in the league does not need to go to Miami. He'll last 8 games and then he'll get frustrated because Beck cant get him the ball enough, they dont have a running game and theyre still years away.
The Tuna is respected, but he and Owens clashed. Johnson isnt as bad as Owens, but I think it's a situation that the Dolphins shouldnt get into.

Actually the Dolphins had one of the better running games with Ronnie Brown in the lineup, he was putting up probowl numbers, till he tore his ACL. If Brown can come back 100% the dolphins ground game could be better than people expect, which would open up the passing game. That being said I don't care how open our passing game would be if we can't find a qb to get him the ball. I don't think Beck has it, he didn't even show any flashes of brilliance at all this year. I didn't expect him to win, but I expected him to show potential.

I agree with you - with Ronnie Brown, the run game is very good. But will/can he return to top form after that type of injury? Many backs have and many backs havent. I've read that they are thinking of bringing Ricky back into the fold.
Youre absolutely right about the uselessness of having a top flight receiver when you have no one to get the ball to him. I dont care if the Tuna is in Miami... he's not throwing the ball. The Raiders had Randy Moss and Jerry Porter who, on paper, should have been a great 1-2 combo. That didnt work because Andrew Walters, Aaron Brooks and Tuiasospo are all CFL calibre QBs.
Getting Johnson is tempting, but I think Dolphin fans need to be patient, Tuna needs to be patient and build a successful team over the course of 3 years.
At least you dont have a cryogenically frozen, paranoid, senile owner who continues to drive your franchise right into the ground. The Dolphins could get rid of Cameron... Raider fans are waiting for Skeletor to die.

It seems like with ACL injuries, even after the player has been declared 100% healthy, it takes almost another year before the player regains his form. I don't know if it is lingering discomfort, fear of hurting it again, mentally overcoming the limitation of the injury, or what. That just seems to be my impression.

True but I'd still love to see 85 in a fin jersey next year when I go to Denver to watch the game!

Origionally reported by Adam Schefter of the NFL Network:
New Orleans Saints Defensive End Charles Grant was stabbed in the neck in an altercation. A pregnant woman also died in the altercation. Grant's cousin was shot as well.
Everything posted around the web is speculation, and I will look for an oficial report when it becomes available.
From the blogs, etc. it sounds like Grant was preventing his cousin from doing something ill-advised when he was stabbed. Which led to his cousin being shot, and the pregnant woman being killed accidentally. again, pure speculation at his point.

The link claims it was in Atlanta, which is already being refuted. It allegedly was in Blakely, Georgia, miles from Atlanta...
Don't expect to hear much about this before tomorrow, I'm sure the NFL will have it squashed until then.

"There were a couple of young men in there fighting, but Charles was not part of the fight," Tolley said. "He's a big guy. He kind of stands out in a crowd. This wasn't one of those deals where Charles went in and started a fight. He wasn't even drinking. I think that's important for people to know."

Good news for Grant, the Saints, and the NFL in general.

A judge has ruled against the Atlanta Falcons saying they are only entitled to $3.75 of the $20 million signing bonus Vick received when he signed his last contract.

the worst part about these injuries is mental. I'm not being tackled by pro athletes, and there's always a voice in the back of my head telling me to be careful. And it's been 15 years since my ACL reconstruction surgery. It's definitely fear.

Really has there ever been a dynasty type team that had more reasons to hate them?
Someone called the local radio station in Phx yesterday to say that this dynasty was bookened with Tucks.
The tuck rule started it vs Oakland in 01 and arguably the best player on the filed on sunday was Justin Tuck. Well I hope he's right, in that the dynasty is over.
In other news the NFL has said that it will meet with that golf pro who used to work with the patriots. he mentioned to espn this week that he has info that he'd figure the league would find interesting. I believe the same interview where he talked about the filming of the rams the day before the superbowl.

That former Patriots video assistant said he would disclose all the information he had to ESPN if they agreed to pay his legal fees. ESPN declined. He is worried about being sued by the Patriots and the NFL. I would be suspicious if he is found dead in the next couple of weeks.

The hate for Moss never ended, it just was hushed for a while when he played the role of good citizen.

yeah, I know that part. Suddenly Brady and everyone else get grouped into it. That's what bugs me.

I would care if I spent good money to travel to Hawaii to see it.

On the Pats the only one I really feel sorry for is Seau. Most of the rest of the core players have one or multiple championships. For Seau to have played so long at such a high level, I feel sorry for him to have gotten so close (I should say again since he played in SB XXIX, but the Chargers weren't expected to win that game).
