Then theres those metal-type thingy's that go in there and stay in there for I'm pretty sure years. They are supposed to be really effective and no-maintenence(until they need to be switched I guess)
quote]
It's called an IUD. Generally, they are good for 5 to 10 years. They are inserted by a doctor and then left alone. 99% effective like most birth control.
Not to be confused with a diaphram which is inserted before sex, used with a contraceptive foam, and then removed 6 to 8 hours after sex. Also considered highly effective.

My wife and I've been using this method for the past five years or so in addition to 'domes and good ol' abstinence. I spend a lot of time staring at the calendar.

I dont see how taking a pill at a regulated time every day is inconvenient. Me and my girlfriend dont use condoms either, I just use the pull out technique. But she uses the pill daily, I dont see why yours wouldnt. The only inconvenience is when her alarm wakes me up the next day at 7:30am every time because its time for her to take her pill(evidently it must always be at 7:30, I'm fine with it if thats what it takes). Personally I'd be scared to hell if I was in your sitchy, without any type of contraceptive.

So she hates the feel of condoms and would rather do it without the rubber. As awesome as this sounds, she isnt on the pill or using any kind of contraceptives herself. This has me worried that I might not pull it out on time and that the pre cum would eventually get her pregnant.
Am I worrying too much?

Unless you want a kid I think you have the right to worry. Here's something that personally I can't wait to see in the market: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770
The no side effects factor is something that will turn me into a devout user of this.

Let's just say that if the man in question didn't freak out and disappear all week, I would've had a lot of nastiness goin on. And it was like that for two and a half days. I could just be sitting there and jiggle my butt funny. I don't think I'd recommend trying it for fun though. You could react like one of the other girls do and have nasty things happen to you instead.

I can't help you without more information. What are your IQ's? Do you both have jobs? Do you contribute to society in a positive manner?
Most people with Jobs and contributing to society have a harder time getting pregnant
Get all you can while you can but wake up and get some protection.

Lol! I didn't even know that the morning after pills were available here yet. I must admit that it's something I'm completely ignorant about.. how are they used? Every time there's unprotected sex? Just when you are suspicious? When you first test positive?

It never ceases to amaze me at how many misconceptions and stuff there is in the young people I ever talk to about this kind of thing. I mean my dad was about as bad you could get at this stuff, but at least he got a good book and left it on my bed for me to find (no, not a nudie mag), I read it, and was more educated that everyone I knew at that point.

We need a thread hall of fame section, place this one with the dude who wanted to ask the lifeguard out and the one where MacT was singing "I'm a barbie girl"
In all seriousness, Ha Ha, if your question from the outset is serious I think you and your partner need to understand that what you are doing is russian roulette and you are making very short term decisions with very long term implications.

Wow, what an entertaining thread in a disturbing kind of way. Good luck with your failsafe method. Take it from someone who has had no problem getting my wife pregnant, it......doesn't......work!

It's not something you should be taking every time you have unprotected sex, only when there's the potential for an accident. You should be using other birth control and use it as a back-up method for when the condom breaks and she's really fertile or when she forgets three pills in a row and doesn't tell you or whatever. You have 72 hours to take your first pill, so there may or may not be time for a pregnancy test and it may or may not be accurate anyways. You just go to the clinic and get the pill.
Basically it's a super birthcontrol pill that's like 5 times a woman's normal dosage, (maybe higher, I don't rightly recall) and you take 2 pills 12 hours apart or something like that. What it does is it forces you to have your period right away. It was a while ago I forget the specifics, but that's the jist of it.

This thread is just another example of why women have it worse than men. You get the condom, our options are needles, pills, things in our hooeys... whatever. Suck it up princesses! Do your part! I can't wait until the male birth control pill comes out.

I think within 72 hours of unprotected sex... techinically everytime you have unprotected sex because it shouldn't be happening regularily...
But it has a very high hormone content which can screw with a woman's cycle and system...not to mention cause nausia and other symptoms. Not for everyday use for sure.

I had a friend in highschool that did the "pull out" method of contraception. I think his daughter is 7 now.
