Lol yup, saw it come, do it's thing, and go in about 20 minutes.. most pathetic storm front ever! Some cool cloud formations on the trailing edge though.

Yeah the EC radar time lapse is pretty cool right now, you can see nothing, nothing, then bam a huge wall of activity.

Well that was fun. Still dark in NW (Country Hills) but looks like the storm is done.

Where do purple skies come from? That's something they warned about in the Apocalypse or some ****, no?

Still lots of light activity up here by the University. It's all contained up in the clouds, not touching down, no banging with it. Cool to watch, though.

The Purple sky is freaking me out.

Purple is probably coming from the sunset now. If it is the middle of the day and you are in a storm and it looks kinda greenish/turquoiseish (kinda hard to describe) you may be in the middle of some trouble.

I should have used this link:

http://www.weathermod.com/projects/hail/alberta.php

Click on current loop and it will animate it for you.

It's weird though because I only see it in one section of the city. Must have something to do with reflection of the sun or something. To the west it's greyish, east it's very dark. Boy that thing was moving fast. Those lightning rods won't stop either.

Yikes!
We were just finishing up a softball game (and into our cars) at Shouldice when all hell broke loose. Yes, there were two strikes quite close. Rain came quick and furious, then by the time I was down Crowchild at Memorial... no more rain. Pretty lucky the path was the one it took. Not one of us were thinking tornadoes, just watching that the lightning wasn't close.

My balcony faces South and I could clearly see a lightning bolt shoot up from some area in the SW. Some place down there got hit, no doubt about that.

The other ones I didn't actually see, just a flash out of the corner of my eye but I had to walk back away from my balcony because of the loudness. Sounded way too close. Three of them I would say really made me go, "Holy S***!"

I dont know why they would extend that watch now. Its pretty obvious things have calmed down. They are still using the 9:05 data for the TS warning.

High River got hit pretty good with some tennis ball sized hail. Siding got dinged in 3 spots. Was surprised no windows got broken.

Got some pics of the storn and the hail.
