Near the Heritage train station/Acadia area... just got a nice big thunder boom, slightly raining but the sky is ominously dark.

Just started to rain here in Edgemont, my girlfriend's sattelite just crapped out on her. Lots of thunder and lightning!

I think it's 7 years to the day of the pine lake tornado isn't it?

This cloud in N.W. Calgary is DARK

Looking to the SW from Millrise, you can see the storm passing as the storm clouds clear out quite distinctly. Actually now the downpour has stopped to a trickle as I type this.

Big thunderstorm here in the far NW now. Been raining hard for at least 15 minutes. Lots of thunder and lightning, some hail.

The current Calgary storms are ones that just exploded off the foothills. SOmeone a while back in the other thread mentioned some weather coming over the mountains..well, this is it. Line of storms from north of Airdrie all the way to High River, but there is a small gap in the storm, and Calgary is right in the centre of that gap...sadly.

In Taradale we've hardly gotten enough rain to wet the sidewalk. Lots of rumbling in the distance, but it is very still right here.

Ah, the joys of hot, hazy humid days.

OK, the rain is starting to come down now, it has gotten quiet, and the sky is a freaky colour. Time to keep the eyes peeled....

Nothing looks like it is coming our way. But if you check out this pick you can see three big storms just missing the city.

Tornado watch for Calgary is over. With things moving east there is a watch for Drumheller and Three Hills.
