Damian Lewis (Captain Winters) is British.. let that blow your mind!
Also, watch him on Life. He's awesome.

HBO does a pretty good job. I wouldn't worry about it. It may be different, you may not like it quite as much as the original, but it will still be good.

It seemed like half the cast is either British, Irish or Scotish.
Major Winters, Lt. Welsh, Doc Roe, Liebgot, Penkala, Sergeant Martin, Blithe
Simon Pegg is in it as an American. So is Lil' Adama from Battlestar (who is British).

Whats so impressive is how awesome Brits, Aussies are at faking an American accent and how BRUTAL most American/Canadian actors are at doing British/Aussie accents.
Look at the hot chick on Chuck, Aussie, you'd never know unless someone told you.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, the first footage released (then pulled, leaked, pulled, leaked...repeat) of The Pacific. It's short, but at least it's something. For those of us interested, here's the link.

I would check it out soon if you're interested, as I'm sure HBO will yank it again soon. Enjoy.

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!

Or Hugh Laurie on House...
A couple of years ago, after seeing the odd episode of house in the previous seasons, I happened upon The Tonight Show while Hugh Laurie was a guest. I was shocked to hear that he had an English accent. I had absolutley NO idea he was British until that point.
I'm really looking forward to Pacific. How many hours is the mini series supposed to be? Is there a more definitive release date than 2009?

screw that, i'll go as far to say it's the best thing ever put to film. no other movie or TV show has given me as much enjoyment as my BoB DVD set (soon to be replaced by a Blu-Ray set). the Oscars should create a new category just so it can be honored properly

HBO Canada HD is probably the most significant channel added in the past 20 years.

BoB is epic in so many ways.
Does Shaw offer HBO Canada? We're thinking about switching from Bell to Shaw for reasons I won't get into, but if I can't watch this series on Shaw I won't be switching it's over.
