I work in Administration in the NE of Calgary. I don't see why this would have anything to do with my first post. I was so happy that my 2 wishes for 2007 came true. (1) A better radio station so I wouldn't have to listen to CJay & (2) No smoking in Calgary bars. I googled XFm and found this forum and decided to let others know how happy I was with the new station.

I don't have satellite radio myself, but I know of someone that has it. That one channel Hard Attack I think it's called I really love. If I had satellite radio my station would never change from that. I wish Calgary actually had a station that played Lamb Of God, Trivium, Children Of Bodom, Slayer, Killswitch Engage, and the list goes on really. Unless I'm actually missing a station that plays those bands, there isn't one.

As far as this new station goes, it's pretty good so far. Better than CJay I think.

Looks like they just played "Karma Police" twice within a a half hour. Kind of strange.

I was wondering the same thing. Seems like a weak signal. I thought that maybe it was just like that while they were doing their test but this morning it still wasn't that strong in the NE

It is a very weak signal. It sucks when you can't hear the station while still in the city limits.

I'm in Calgary...I should be able to get Calgary radio.

And my own personal reaction update....they do play their fair share of CRAP. But...still better than CJAY.

Listened to XFm tests before NYE with the low radio quality, was expecting so much better in 2007 but wasvery disappointed.

Song lists don't seem that much better on XFm either. Slightly different format, same amount of overplay.

CJAY is a fixture in this city. As far as commercial radio goes it's decent. I doubt they are very worried.

Satelitte would be the way to go, but if I'm going local comercial I'd still pick CJAY. They do a lot of great stuff for the community, they have the history, they have the personalities. I don't listen to them much at all anymore, but if I'm on the dial, that's probably where I am.

I wish they'd go back and do some of their local and new music programs instead of playing everything to death. Or do the different albums once a night, or play the longer songs like Master of Puppets or Laterlaus. Or have their metal show or punk show. They used to be so much better.

It's defintely become even MORE popular music in the last few years.

But as far as this new one. They got nothing on them. On the dial most of it's crap. CJAY gets my very slight nod.

I wish, I offered it to him, on the condition his ass was indeed heart-shaped - however it turned out to be more cottage-cheezy, so I sold it to another guy.

If it was Greg Beharrel, I hope you punched him square in the nuts as an added bonus.

X is a great station, except for the 4 hours that twit is on.
