Some of the guys from the dojo in town created a martial arts lifestyle business called Budo Brothers years ago. They recently launched a jacket that can pretty much do what you describe what the 5.11 Rush 24 can do. Check it out if you're interested - BLOKR Jacket

Functionally kinda cool. Design wise... not my preference. Especially since for many jackets of this style, storage wise, it's basically trading the arm insert pockets for the two tiny inner pockets.
I have a few jackets/vests where the pocket lining fabric allows you to basically have an inner pocket that can basically fit a 2L bottle. Really useful to have a pocket you can basically put a small water bottle, magazine or a bunch of papers without folding it down as much. Similar to the arm inserts, it also potentially could have been used as a slot to put in an optional fibre insert to protect the torso from a frontal attack.
It does give me some ideas on how to potentially modify some of my jackets to improve the functionality of my 3 in 1 jackets with the removable liner/inner jacket such as adding Molle or PALS to support the pockets or hidden inner chest pocket for certain small valuables/tools.

We just dyed my son's hair back to natural brown after a summer of looking at weird dye jobs. 'guy, you start university in a month. you can't go in looking like a tit'
Son, you can't go to university looking like a tit. Here, take dad's backpack with you, it has 35 pockets. This pocket can fit all your fisherman's friends, which is important because those are the only friends you're going to have with this dorky thing on your back.

Cool has nothing to do with it. You're starting to see Allfiction shirts creep back into the world. Cool, not cool, in or out of fashion those shirts are a messy splash of ugly. Like that jacket.
