Scoring Winger

Such horrible asset management.
Have given up Broberg, Holloway and McLeod for basically nothing. And walked from foegel.
The Oilers are hitting early years of aging Pittsburg territory (minus the cups) with limited to no future young talent pool.

Now they are saying they need a physical scoring winger to replace Kane, and a D who can play at both ends. Coulda used Holloway and Broberg, or any of the others mentioned above…

Excellent pick-up for them, especially with the playoffs coming up.

Hmm what? Frederic isn't tough, more like a guy who tries to be tough but is always late to the show. He's gotten clowned around by Bennett and Tkachuk the last few years.
I don't mind him as a player but his toughness is way overrated. I don't think he moves the needle at all.

Don’t they need defense and goaltending? Do they need more forwards?

Well, IMO they needed a Foegele or Macleod replacement. They thought they could outscore the loss of defensive forwards. And picked up guys who used to score but now, not so much.

Ridiculous post. Maybe not the toughest guy in the league, but he’s game, and he certainly moves the needle- he can shift the momentum of a game with a big hit or a fight, and he always comes to the aid of teammates. He skates well, plays physical, and wins battles.
Edit: Are you sure he’s fought Bennett or Tkachuk, I can’t find anything…

Never moved the needle when I've seen him. He drops the gloves, sure, but that's not what is really needed in the playoffs. He seems more rattled/lost than anything when it comes to shenanigans, easy to get off his game.
Lets see what happens, I doubt he'll have any impact.

Well, it’s also a question of how he fits in with his new team.

So on the check list of 10 things they need, they got one...kind of. He probably won't play for a few weeks.
