Also has potential as a pump and dump candidate.

I think you really underestimate Andersson's passing from the Blueline. Weegar got 20G and Andersson played a huge part in that at even strength. Moreover, Andersson put up 21, and 19 PPP in the two previous years.

For me PP2 starts with Andersson and one of Miromanov/Barrie/Poirier.

Also, getting 0 PP points will lower Andersson's production and trade value, which is not something you want to do right before trading him.

He has DEL/SEL/KHL written all over him.

I watched him a lot when he was on that Lethbridge team with Cozens and Skinner, and no denying his offensive skill set, but his overall skill set and size have worked against him translating to the show. I know he is listed at 5' 11" but there is no way he is that.

Cheering for the kid but just don't see it happening in the NHL.

Certainly worth a PTO mind you, if he is interested. Just have a feeling he would have a lot of interest from European teams.

Pretty sure I saw somewhere EDM was trying to get him on a PTO. Aside from that mostly Islander reporters saying he's a good fit on a PTO.

He strikes me as an add a lot of teams will be interested in.

Why is everyone convinced that a long-term Andersson contract is going to age badly?

His game isn't built on being fast or athletic, he's been a very durable player throughout his career (in spite of the scooter incident), and his hockey sense is his best attribute.

Andersson plays a style that ages pretty well and could still be effective at age 36/37.

At this point, I'd rather not do anything that detracts from getting as high a pick as possible in next year's draft. If you are bringing in a veteran, I'd prefer it be someone who can defend well in order to help Wolf's development.

In any case, interested to see what Conroy has in mind. It has been a firesale so far under his watch which is what the doctor ordered.

When talking about warts are you talking about the hockey player or the person off ice?

I think he is the type of person who the Oilers like to sign.

You probably don't get much more than 4th rd pick for him.

If he can help inflate stats of some guys on the PP and we can send them off for picks, the money would be worth it.

Interesting that Huska was Barrie's head coach in Kelowna. And Jamie Benn's and Backlund's too.

He has some edge too as well as leadership skills.

Getting rid of people is easy. Anyone can do that. The next part is where we find out what he’s made of. The building back up phase.

Of course. You're going to have to be patient for that though, the only way to build a winner is through the draft. Once you have some elite pieces in place, you can start adding through other means.

It is going to be 2 or 3 years before we can really evaluate the yield from the Conroy drafts.

I was talking about his game on the ice- is there something that makes him a problem off-ice?

A free 4th round pick ain't bad.

I didn't hear anything, and I'm also curious to know.

I'm pretty sure he was one of the characters in the MIN locker room. Similar to what Z was for the Flame off the ice. He just didn't fit Guerin's unrealistic expectations of becoming a core piece. It's a little odd SJ didn't give him a qo, I assume it's because of his -35 last year.

An oilers fan chimed in on Flames Nation that Barrie is incredibly well liked . Is a team guy 100% and while his defensive game is lacking when put in the position to lead , be coach able and mentor younger players he's your guy.

You can't have enough vets like this. Maybe he has something like what Tanev offered and in no way am I suggesting ANYONE could fill those skates because they can't obviously Huska and Lambert went to Craig and Said get us this guy for a reason.

ILL take a coaches fighting to have a certain player anyday over one of us armchair coach, gm wanna bees on CP because we all know so much better .

I hope he comes in and blows the doors off but makes everyone else better In the process.

Sometimes PTOs do that. Sometimes

Nothing I've experienced or witnessed myself. Lots of smoke about his lack of character from his Jr. days. I was shocked when I first heard anything (someone from CP brought it up once) then I asked a couple of people who interact with the club and they were happy they didn't have to hear about him anymore.
