Nope haven’t really watched much of the Flames this year yet. Highlights and such. Just from past. Just pointing it out.

They’ve (he and Tanev) been killing it this year so I hope they get the shot.

Valimaki was hot last game, I don’t know if he has the chops for this assignment but I hope he gets more offensive opportunities tonight.

His English is getting a lot better too! I can't imagine learning another language, let alone balancing it with a pro hockey career in a Canadian market. It must be such a tough adjustment and I respect him so much for battling through his early struggles on the ice (after coming over to NA at such a young age) and becoming a more impactful player.

I want him to become a Flame someday... but for now, his team must lose.

All I know, is if dumb dumb Ward is going to give Lucic as much icetime as he been, then Lucic better forget any old friendships he may have had. He better be sticking up for his Flames teammates and just waiting for an opportunity to drop the gloves. If he doesn't, bench his ass!!!

I'm afraid to post.
I don't want to be negative but I'm struggling to feel positive.

Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Geoff Ward, when asked if Sam Bennett will play tonight against the Oilers:

"We've made a decision. We'll wait and see what happens."

So... why not share it if you have, Geoff? Why the suspense?

Ward comes across as a bit standoffish. I'm sure he's playing but if he isn't then this lil dog and pony show is pretty dickish.

My former classmate, who’s an Oilers’ fan, sent me a gloating text expecting a total domination and 10:0 Oilers’ win tonight. I told him to go f... himself, of course. But secretly, I am expecting the worst...

I think he’s holding out telling his lineup to mess with the Oilers, not Sam Bennett. Ryan is out too. Nobody (the public) knows what the lines will be. It’s not a big deal.

Look around the league and you'll see a Simon/Bennett in every team's top nine ... that's salary cap hockey.
Just finished with the Jets

Connor-Stastny-Wheeler Ehlers-Schieffle-Copp Appleton-Lowry-Perrault

and Dubois takes Perrault's spot

Appleton/Copp are Mangiapane/Dube and given the start that these 4 players are off to that is being generous to the Flames.

There is absolutely no spot on Montreals or Toronto's top 9 for Simon or Leivo and apparently not on Vancouvers. Their #9 forward is Beagle

So that leaves Edmonton (21 Mil cap for 2 of the top 5-6 forwards in the league)and Ottawa in the Canadian division that fill in with replacement level players

Bennett helps fill the Flames top-8 and it will be interesting to see what return they get on him.

With Ryan out , no chance they sit Bennett.

If Froese is in, they might be.

If no Bennett today, then I doubt he ever plays a game again with the Flames.

What the hell is up with you guys? it's still the god damn oilers.

Other than the canucks we barely played the sucky teams in our division. Winnipeg and Toronto are better than us. That's it. Montreal is going to be back to average when Toffoli stops scoring like Ovechkin.
