My favourite player in this game may be Puljujarvi because he seems like such a funny and nice guy. But that doesn't mean that I won't be pulling for the Flames... not at all.
Still... It would be awfully refreshing (and surprising) to see Ward do something inventive with the lines. Not optimistic.

With the number of odd-man rushes generated against us from turnovers 4' inside the offensive blue line over the last few games, I'm more than a little worried.
Sure, the Oilers are a tire fire defensively, but the way our offense has looked in the last few games, I'm not sure we'll be able to take advantage.
Hoping for the win, but mentally preparing myself for the loss. Not even going to tempt karma by chirping by best friend who is an Oilers fan.

Gotta give Stang some credit. A no good Oiler fan but still dedicated to take abuse and talk about his no goods in a rivals forum. Hopefully give the man nothing good to celebrate. We ain't no Senators so no padding stats against us.
Inject Rinaldo into the lineup. Maybe Robinson too. Yes Rinaldo cant play hockey but between Simon Leivo and Nordstrom they combine for one secondary assist. at least Rinaldo will hit people and stir things up hopefully injecting something, anything into the lineup.
If we play like we did against Winnipeg last game this could easily become 4-0 in the first period. (Yes their defence and goaltending is garbage but we cant score apparently).
Sorry man, Puljujarvi is the best. He and I share a favourite food...
His English is getting a lot better too! I can't imagine learning another language, let alone balancing it with a pro hockey career in a Canadian market. It must be such a tough adjustment and I respect him so much for battling through his early struggles on the ice (after coming over to NA at such a young age) and becoming a more impactful player.
I want him to become a Flame someday... but for now, his team must lose.

Puljujarvi is junk and both his goals that have the loser fan base up north going crazy come against a team that have 2 wins in 11 games.
Edmonton is no good and JP is no good.

I just want to see the Flames come out and show us some basic expectations.......skate hard, finish your checks, no stupid giveaways, play with some emotion. Not a lot to ask.
Would be a great game for the team's best players to all play like it. Chucky needs to get going, this would be a good game to start. Wouldn't mind Buddy drawing in instead of Simon.

I wouldn't read too much into the last few games against the same team playing a trap style system. Winnipeg needs to do that to keep pucks out of their net since their defense personnel is so poor. They trap and counter-attack, which means that you get turnovers in the neutral zone or high in the offensive zone, and then a quick counter-attack with an odd-man rush. The Flames had to take more chances offensively in order to generate something, but they won't have to work nearly that hard to get shots against Edmonton. It's an entirely different matchup.
I'm actually pretty confident in our defense to shut down the Oilers outside of McDavid and Draisaitl, who can create offense against just about any team. Even if they break down a little, Markstrom has been more than up to the task. Just don't give them any powerplays.
