Yes, the team looked terrible on Sat and it sucked getting blown out at home, but we up are still up 3-1 in the season series and still right in the thick of the playoff race.

Yes, there are some huge problems on the team right now and I expect Treliving to do whatever he can to fill in the gaps, but I'm not about to write the team and the season off. I'll be cheering every game until they are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, or the playoffs themselves.

5-1 Flames tonight, Go Flames Go!
Yeah I'm not going to let one game ruin what has been a good month. Realistically we weren't going to sweep the season series, I'm over it.

I don't mind a loss or two, or 5 in a ten game span.

What I mind is when this team loses the handle, it loses it completely. They have no identity to coalesce around when things are bad, it looks like players who have never played with each other before.

I thought big Buddy did a good job of just "go play hockey" the other night, and I wouldn't mind if the Flames did that - whatever system they are supposedly implementing is obviously pretty fragile.

Oh, and if Johnny could be a positive factor tonight, in basically any way at all, I'd be thrilled.

No idea how this game goes, could be 10 0 in either direction.

If this team really fancies themselves as legit contenders there's no excuse not to come out of that stretch any worse than 6-1-1. Good teams feast on bottom feeders.

I'm not saying they need that record to stay in the playoff race, but muddling through those games to a .500 record isn't something a team with cup aspirations should be doing. Hopefully they get off to a good start tonight!
couldn't agree with this more. If they even come out of this 5-2-1 I will keep the faith.

But a team with the worst goal differential of any playoff team (by a lot) does not inspire confidence. Simply put, if Johnny doesnt get the Gandolf exorcism he so badly needs and Hamonic and Hanifin continue playing like they are, this will be a couple of painful months. We’ve already over squeezed the goaltending.

5-2-1. Minimum.

I’m a glass half full guy. But they should have swept.

Whoops, turned the TV on early and got hit in the face with a full 10 min of the oilers propaganda machine. All McDavid, all the time.
