Feels like everyone, including us fans, the players, and media guys, are all on Xmas break now mentally and literally

I’m empty after watching the Stars get ****ed by the Panthers live

Yeah, have to give it to them there

That was a great play

sad hockey noises

Omg. Why can’t we score like that.

that was a pretty passing play

Urgh.. This chip up the wall and dump n chase hockey is brutal.. reminisces of the 1-7-1 we went on.. blind passes to noone .
Dump it in over and over … This is brutal to watch..
Quote:
Let’s get the puck on their side of the ice for a bit, mmkay?
Quote:
Hell yeah! Love early icing!
Quote:
Here we go again. 4 shots to 0. Sigh
Quote:
It definitely isn’t the most entertaining style of hockey
Quote:
Half way through the first and 1 shot....looks like we could win this one lol
Quote:
Stars new philosophy: stop all their shots, and as long as we shoot 2 times and have a shot percentage of 50, we'll win.
Quote:
I don't think anybody on this team has any passion. They seem to not care if they win or lose.
Quote:
They don't care
You can see it on their faces.. just going through the motions…and Esa is hot garbage!!!
Quote:
This is what it looks like
When you don’t practice enough. Passes aren’t crisp, players just throwing it to open areas of ice, special teams looking anything but special.
Chucky with a PPG
Quote:
Jesus ####ing christ these lines are ####. They have no idea what they're doing with each other. What does miscommunication lead to? A goal against of course. For ####s sake people. We have way too much talent for this ####.

Taking a penalty on Rinaldo. Oof

What is with this penalty kill lately ?
Quote:
Our pk
Is really sucking lately

Our PK might as well not even be there.

So we gonna play any ####ing defense tonight or is it just a shooting gallery with a lazy ####ing stick 4 feet from the shooter, Christ alive
Moneyhands with another PPG
Quote:
I just want a ####ing PP where we can do passing like that, for ####'s sake.
Quote:
Great, now we suck at the one thing we were good at.
Quote:
#### right off. Refs handing them the game on a platter
Quote:
This is the worst defensive game I’ve seen us play in 2 seasons
Quote:
We blame the refs... ( i don't but seems like most stars fans do) Our defense suddenly sucking isn't fault of refs.
Quote:
How the #### are we going to be a man down after it started with the flames crosschecking someone in the back after the play is over?... Wtf?
Quote:
What the ####? I demand to know if there is a glory hole between the ref and visitors locker room.
Quote:
So done with NHL refs after the game. Cogliano gets crosschecked into their goalie, and Cogs gets the penalty but not the guy who cross checked him. Add that with the 2 softies earlier. Ridiculous
Quote:
This is tough to watch. Still just floors me how veteran this team is and the lack of push back or give a **** at times. I bet they're checked out for the holidays and we'll probably see as much in the 3rd.
Quote:
It’s sad how many people are leaving the arena honestly
Quote:
What bull####. Refs trying to make hockey not fun to watch?
Backlund with yet another PPG
Quote:
You get a PP goal! You get a PP goal! Everyone gets a PP goal!
Quote:
Of ####ing course.. 3 pp goals in 3 ridiculous powerplays
Quote:
Nothing like going into the Christmas break with a nice losing streak/weak play!
Quote:
Pk is terrible tonight but the refs calling random stuff on the Stars certainly didn't help.
Quote:
Our PK has collapsed. So has defense in general.
Quote:
My body is ready for this to be 5-1 and our PK rankings start to plummet
Quote:
Flames are not using a lot of front net presence during their PP. This makes our 240 pounds defensemen quite useless.
Quote:
Would bishop have made the save without contact? No. Was it goalie interference? Dude skated directly through the crease into Bishop’s leg. 100% interference.
Quote:
Good goal. Bishop didn't give a #### and he would've been in the refs' face
Quote:
Looks like a good goal to me so…no goal? wow I was right…good hockey goal of course served by Denis
Quote:
We get bull#### calls and we crumble on PK. Repeat.
That's the past couple of games. Would be ####ing nice to get a call once in a while.
Quote:
So, had to leave when it was still 1-1 and I come back to this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! This team is ####ting the bed right now and should be embarrassed of themselves.
Nill needs to do five things:
1) realize he made a mistake in appointing Bowness to IHC.
2) remove Bowness from said position.
3) appoint Todd Nelson as HC. NOT IHC, but HC. Give him some permanency.
4) admit his five year plan was an utter failure and go stick his head in the sand so he can’t do any further damage to this team.
5) sign on with DBD to write a blog each day to get the fans’ view of personnel and line up changes as well as who to draft. We’ll vote on the options available and he has to do what we tell him. Apparently we actually had a decent coach in Monty (coz this team is apparently really, really horrible and it took a modicum of skill as a coach to herd this group of cats around) so, all I have to say about that is that his firing better have been damn necessary and not some C.Y.A. b.s.

What a #### day to be a Dallas sports fan.

Does this team miss Monty?

The worse we do without Monty, the more I wonder what the hell Monty did.

I will say, if it was a fluffed up incident that technically met breach of contract but wasn't horrendous, I will be upset. Will feel more like a move to get rid of someone.
Quote:
what the #### happened to this team? they have looked like they did at the beginning of the season
Quote:
We fired the guy making the good decisions.
Quote:
Good hockey decisions….
Quote:
One thing I feel like Monty was great at was getting the team to play through adversity. Rick on the other hand isn’t exactly known for that.
Quote:
Jim Nill is such a blowhard, “we won’t even begin to imagine looking for another coach with a better than .333 win record”
Pete DeBoer fired literally 3 days later.
Nill: “I said what I said”

I’m trying really hard not to overreact to these last two games but man it’s hard. At least we are still in the first wild card.
Quote:
We have a long break now.
If there is any time that you’d make your coaching decision and just swap Bones and Nelson, now would be the time. I know it’s not gonna happen. I’m just pointing out that there really is 0 hope after this break if it doesn’t happen. We’re gonna fall out of a playoff spot permanently, but we already won too many games to make any difference in the draft. That’s the Dallas Stars since 2008. Purgatory. Pick between 8-13 almost every single damn year.
Inevitability

Lol who's reffing that? Even "hasn't scored in 18 games" got a PPG.

Man does Benn suck

3-1 Calgary thanks to the stupidity of Perry and Benn

Awesome special teams yesterday. I have dumped on backlund a lot this year, but he was all over it yesterday. Glad to see him finally get rewarded. Would be awesome to see him get back on track offensively.

It's been that since being put on the line with Monahan.
Swear he's been getting 2-3 chances each game but just can't finish this year. He actually leads the team in individual scoring chances for, and individual High Danger Corsi For.
Separately it's a bit surprising but Andrew Mangiapane actually leads the team in 5v5 goals now with 7.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I've seen 2 back to back PP's that dominant by us. A decade ago? I'm loving it, if we could actually have a decent PP, that would be huge for the rest of the year.
Just a regular scrum. Cogliano took a poke at Rittich, Monahan cross checked him in the back, everything escalated from there. Not sure why Andersson got the misconduct though, if anything it looked like Faksa was the worst offender. He must have said something.
When I was a kid, I had a soccer coach who reminded us that no matter how fast our opponents were, there was one thing they couldn't outrun: the ball. This may seem like an obvious lesson, but it amazes me how often it gets forgotten, even in pro sports.
The Flames would do well to internalize the related lesson they taught Dallas tonight. The Stars PK couldn't even follow the puck's movement, the Flames slung it around so quickly. I get so frustrated when the Flames' PP reverts to "draggy and holdy" rather than "passy and movey". Those one-touch passes are unbelievably effective: the puck has already gone before the defender has even had time to turn around. Excellent, excellent stuff.
This PP has MORE than enough talent to be at least as good as the (c)Oilers', if not better. Let's hope what we saw tonight is a sign of much more to come.
The PP was crazy. It's usually the worst ones with how lethargic it moves, and so easy to defend as a result because the PK isn't scrambling and moving out of position; thus sealing all lanes. To go from that, to EA NHL CPU All-Star/Superstar difficulty passing gave me whiplash. Complete polar opposites, and one of the best passing on the PP that I've seen in a very long time from any team.
Hopefully they can maintain that level of pace. If so, the PP will improve tremendously, and will contribute to a lot more wins for the Flames.
Probably lost in all of the pp love was how well Janko seemed to play last night. He looked to be really involved around the net and also made one really good drive to the net, which he has not been doing. Hopefully a sign that he is getting more engaged and improving.
