Awesome special teams yesterday. I have dumped on backlund a lot this year, but he was all over it yesterday. Glad to see him finally get rewarded. Would be awesome to see him get back on track offensively.

Lol who's reffing that? Even "hasn't scored in 18 games" got a PPG.

So is that poster using the fact Backlund scored as evidence the reffing is bad? Logic fail.

It's been that since being put on the line with Monahan.

Swear he's been getting 2-3 chances each game but just can't finish this year. He actually leads the team in individual scoring chances for, and individual High Danger Corsi For.

Separately it's a bit surprising but Andrew Mangiapane actually leads the team in 5v5 goals now with 7.

How bad is Dallas's pp when their fans wish they had a pp like ours?

I wish we had a PP like the PP we had last night too.

They move the puck that crisp and fast every time and they would be a top PP in the league for sure.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I've seen 2 back to back PP's that dominant by us. A decade ago? I'm loving it, if we could actually have a decent PP, that would be huge for the rest of the year.

Just a regular scrum. Cogliano took a poke at Rittich, Monahan cross checked him in the back, everything escalated from there. Not sure why Andersson got the misconduct though, if anything it looked like Faksa was the worst offender. He must have said something.

Also, Andersson kept punching after the linesman had got in between them. A big no-no at all times.

The Flames would do well to internalize the related lesson they taught Dallas tonight. The Stars PK couldn't even follow the puck's movement, the Flames slung it around so quickly. I get so frustrated when the Flames' PP reverts to "draggy and holdy" rather than "passy and movey". Those one-touch passes are unbelievably effective: the puck has already gone before the defender has even had time to turn around. Excellent, excellent stuff.

This PP has MORE than enough talent to be at least as good as the (c)Oilers', if not better. Let's hope what we saw tonight is a sign of much more to come.
The PP was crazy. It's usually the worst ones with how lethargic it moves, and so easy to defend as a result because the PK isn't scrambling and moving out of position; thus sealing all lanes. To go from that, to EA NHL CPU All-Star/Superstar difficulty passing gave me whiplash. Complete polar opposites, and one of the best passing on the PP that I've seen in a very long time from any team.

Hopefully they can maintain that level of pace. If so, the PP will improve tremendously, and will contribute to a lot more wins for the Flames.

That PP passing was off the charts. Really hoping that it starts them on a bit of a roll.

Backlund getting off the schnide is also good news. Would love to see him go on a 4 goal in 5 game type of run (and fully expect that he will).

Yeah, but he was punching him in the butt so it's ok.

Probably lost in all of the pp love was how well Janko seemed to play last night. He looked to be really involved around the net and also made one really good drive to the net, which he has not been doing. Hopefully a sign that he is getting more engaged and improving.
