Its interesting, we look at the E=NG thread and you've got Oilers fans threatening Maroon and thats garbage, but I think Flames fans are largely sad that Freddy had to go but there just wasnt any room for him here. He wasnt winning a spot.

So it sucks to see him go, but thats part of the game, but its a better opportunity for him and maybe he'll get to play.
Play nice all you wish, but few Flames fans are actually SAD or think it SUCKS that Freddie is no longer taking up a roster spot on this team. And if Dougie sulks about this, he's next.

Wait. Do you guys think my real name is Johnny? The username is that i think Gaudreau and Makarov have the same hockey skill set! So fun to watch. and from the years of lurking and months of posting i haven't read a single comparison between the two! I'm sure all you old folks on here can agree!

Hate losing assets. Had much rather seen Stajan on waivers.
These types of guys are available all the time on waivers. Flames can easily replace him. Freddie already cleared waivers once this season.

One thing's certain, no one would have claimed Stajan.

This could be good for Freddie's career, hopefully he gets a lot more playing time. He should be happy.

This situation is bizarre. I'd be shocked if the Coyotes don't already have a Freddie Hamilton in their system. When he was waived earlier in the season he was at least playing somewhat regularly. Passes through. Now he gets claimed when he's routinely sitting in the box?

Again, weird.

Seems like an obvious favour to Treliving/Maloney.

Doubt its a favour. The Coyotes had to pay $26k to the Flames to grab him off waivers. If it was a favour the Flames would have traded him to the Coyotes for future considerations where the future considerations was nothing instead of having to pay $26k to accomplish the same thing.

Didn't Hartley used to refer to Byron as Pauly during interview with the media?

It was probably one of those times where Chayka accidentally dropped his Magic 8-Ball and it came up 'Outlook: Good' so he put in a claim.

From the perspective of being a fan of a professional sports team, then you are correct, few fans are sad to see him go. However, most fans are also human beings capable of empathy, and from that perspective, yes I would say a large contingent is sad to see him go, as he appeared to be a good person. Also, putting yourself in the Hamilton bros shoes, it would be kinda ####ty as they seem like they are fairly close.

Are you personally going to trade Dougie if he 'sulks'? He can sulk if he wants, it is within his rights to do so, however if his play drops off significantly (whether Freddie was claimed or not), then yes, logically he risks being traded or demoted.
