i'm ok with this. He's talking about the game. That's the outcome we should want.
The two brothers seemed to have a lot of fun and were active in the community together (hospital visits, charity events, etc). I don't expect Dougie to be giving media comments on it mere hours after he learned it's over. I'm all for giving him a free pass. I don't begrudge the media for asking the question - it's their job - and I like that Dougie answered by saying he is focused on the game.
Freddie seemed like a good teammate. He used his position as a Flame to help brighten days of Calgarians in tough positions. Good for him. I wish him the best. I hope he's able to establish a regular spot in the lineup and I hope he is able to continue his efforts in the community in a new market.

Same.
It sucks that his brother got waived but thats part of the game, but hes well within his rights to not talk about it and stick to the game.
Its interesting, we look at the E=NG thread and you've got Oilers fans threatening Maroon and thats garbage, but I think Flames fans are largely sad that Freddy had to go but there just wasnt any room for him here. He wasnt winning a spot.
So it sucks to see him go, but thats part of the game, but its a better opportunity for him and maybe he'll get to play.

Good point, Locke. This is an opportunity for Flames fans to juxtapose Oilers fans.
One is wishing Hamilton the best, the other is doing that garbage to Maroon's fiance (which will be extremely damaging for free agent signing)

So, when can we expect an undisclosed Flames D-man to request a trade to Arizona?

Coyotes claim F. Hamilton off waivers from the Flames
Dougie might have said “from personal point of view...ya....playing with brother in NHL is dream come true, but it’s a business and he gets a new chance to play. I look forward to the game and a chance to rub him out along the boards” or something like that. Dougie has a quiet personality but he sounds pissy with that comment.

Its about separating the person from the player.
I loathe seeing Matt Stajan in the lineup but I'd shake that man's hand any day, he seems like a genuinely amazing person, one of my favourite highlights is still when he scored that Penalty Shot and the whole place went insane.
Freddy seemed like a great guy and he got to play with his brother. I wish him the best in Arizona, I hope he gets to play regularly and maybe even lands himself a journeyman NHL gig, because it was never going to happen here.

On a side note. Stajan has 1 point in 29 games, yikes. . Even Bollig gave us more.

A Granlund-Shinkaruk type trade? Or even as a package deal in a bigger trade. A young (just turned 26), cheap borderline NHLer always has value to someone.

He probably is pissy. I'm sure players get annoyed when their buddies get traded all the time.
He should be able to put up a facade with the media better since this will end up being a story, but I doubt his feelings are different from a lot of players when someone they are close to gets moved.

Is it? His counting stats are pretty mediocre in the ECHL as a 23 year old. Am I missing something?
