Might run a little deeper than that. For whatever reason these players not not playing very well for GG.

You can start with anybody on CP that's not Glen. A roll of bum Hank would do a better job.

Can anyone explain why a 4th liner is on the top PP unit? Is there something in Brouwer's contract forcing this team to play him on the powerplay? What exactly has he done to earn PP time as his 5 on 5 prowess certainly hasn't shown any indication that he should be on the ice when they need a goal.

I'm afraid GG is a stats guy trying to win games in the safe percentages. Maybe you win the majority of games (greater than 50%) with that strategy, but you sure don't win a cup that way. You win a cup by motivating passion out of your players and peaking at the right time.
I don't think Gulutzan is capable of that.

You can add Versteeg to that list. Not remotely the same player we got last year.

I know everybody loves youth but Bennet and Janko were very underwelming for the last 2 games. Actually Bennet has been the worst player on the flames for the first 11 games.
|
So true. For most of the time Bennet was on the ice he was falling on his ass.

The Flames look better now than they did in October last year, and I'm confident that as they continue to find their legs, they'll improve. They're operating way under NHL averages in a number of luck-based categories right now, which will more-than-likely improve to the mean. I'm not worried.
|
No, they really don’t. The ONLY difference is we now have Mike Smith.

So much this. On Stajan I don't blame the guy he was never a great player now he's on the way downside of his career. He does his best. And yes he is mostly terrible.

The younger line don't get enough ice time to get their together cos the actual line is hogging the ice time.

He shouldn't be. Truthfully if Bennet had not played so many NHL games already in his career, i think they would have already sent him down to minors.

The worst part will be when they fire Glen and Cameron takes his spot. When I take my kids to the game in January and this #### is still going on they will learn a new vocabulary

Bennett didn’t look like garbage when we had Hartley coaching. Not trying to say he should be rough back but GG is ruining Sam.

bennett and jankowski are better bets than players who would make an average ahl first line. before this game jankowski led the team in possession and rarely looked anything but promising. instead of getting the chance to play out of whatever mistakes he makes and improve, he gets 7 minutes and will probably get sent down next game. we continue to get to watch stajan/brouwer/glass trudge around with less usefulness than pylons and take penalties

When they spend every shift in their own zone its hard to put them out there in a close game

Who would be an upgrade?
Can't be taking 3-4 months each season to inspire this team to play hockey.

Because he had a great screen on the PK on Smith. They were hoping he'd use his big body to actually help the Flames score a goal instead of his contributions to the other teams goals.

Jankowski leads the team in possession and gets the least amount of ice time tonight. Ok then...

Flames PP is 15% on the season and 2 for the last 23, yet the same lines keep being thrown out there. . . . I just don't get it.
