What is with the refs giving us the extra minors when there was a scrum or a fight. They was plenty of stick work from the Ducks. Gawd I hate the Ducks!

Well we can only hope Brouwer is a different player come playoff time. That seems to be his bread and butter.

Flames played arguably one of their best periods of the year in the 1st. Unfortunately once the Ducks tied it, they got a bit tentative and allowed the Ducks to take over.
The 2nd Ducks goal that Elliott let in completely took the wind out of their sails, and they just couldn't recover after that. When the Ducks flip their d**chebag switch on, the Flames just don't have an answer for it. We've certainly shown that we can hang in there with them for long stretches in games, and we're a little bigger and tougher this season, but we just don't have that extra ingredient to put us over the top yet. We're almost there though. Maybe next year.
Needless to say, I think we'd better pray for either Edmonton or Chicago in round 1. Hawks are a hell of a team, but I think the Flames match up much better against them than the Ducks.
F--- I hate the Honda Center so much.

With playoff Ferklund, and playoff Brouwer and Bouma, Engelland, Bartkowski I think the Flames can match physicality. But the key with the Ducks is you don't play their game you play your game...the Flames can take them if they do that.

Objectively, both teams have solid goaltending, solid defense, and good talent and depth. It could easily go either way. For obviously reasons we're the underdogs but have you not watched this team at their best? I believe in playoffs we will see a higher gear and more focus than tonight. I think we still stand a chance.
Next year even more so. Especially if Brower vanishes and becomes replaced or he becomes a better player.
|
The Flames' talent and depth is not near that of either the Hawks or Ducks. It's just a fact.
Yes I've seen this team at their best... they are at their best when playing scrub teams like the Panthers.

I don't know the politically correct way to say this so I'm sincerely going to apologize.
This team is severely lacking the gonads.

Agreed. It was very damn clear in this game that some Flames tried to match the Ducks, but it wasn't nearly enough. Flames tries that against LA and lost, did the same against Anaheim and lost.

Can't imagine the Ducks feel good after losing Fowler though.

That's one of the most upsetting games I've ever seen. Can you imagine trying to describe how you feel about that game as a Flames fan to someone who hasn't been part of the years of bull####? Theres just no way to express how that felt. Ugh.

After tonight I'd love for the Flames to knock them out and stick it to their stupid faces and fans..
But it won't happen if they get upset every time one of the Ducks says or does something dirty. React with the puck, man.
I know the Flames have the ability, but I just have little to no faith in their composure. "Zero faith", if you will.

Sportsnet just said the streak is 24 straight regulation losses. Come on now, it's not THAT bad.

I'm starting to dislike the Ducks even more than the Nucks, though with Kesler and Bieksa there it's kinda the same.
Reffing was awful, but you get that any time Brad Watson is on the ice. Walsh ain't much better. They let too much stickwork go and then lost control altogether.
Too bad - Flames couldn't bury decent chances and gave up three pretty soft goals (not Elliott's fault though other than maybe the second one - just bad luck).
Crap.
Rest guys now - we're not moving up in the standings, may as well just ice a team of callups for the last two.
