Anyway, awesome hit.

See Wideman, Dennis.
Yes, maybe I didn't word it right. There are very clear rules about players and their interaction with officials but there is, insofar as I know, no rules about contact with a downed or injured player.

Wideman wasn't assessed a penalty, but he broke a rule. The players knocking Larsen about technically broke no rule that I know of except perhaps a loose interpretation of Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

They can't fine the clowns as they broke no rule. I wish there was as I would like to see supplementary discipline in that case. I'm not usually one for overduing rules and such, but perhaps there should be one that addresses this - sad that one would be required.

Again, maybe there is one and I just don't know about it.

I didn't understand your point. You are right. No rule infraction, no suspension. See Wideman's defence that it was all an accident so no intentional use of force, no infraction and so no suspension.

You absolutely can be fined or suspended for an incident that did not result in a penalty on the ice. Happened several times last year. Including when Matt Hendricks threw a dirty hit on Aaron Ekblad and then told the media "I don't hit dirty".

That's what I thought he meant, but he didn't. What he's asking is if you can get suspended for doing something that's stupid and dangerous, but not a rule infraction at all (not just something the refs didn't call).
