What was he supposed to do? He planted and squared himself to Larsen. He didn't leave his feet and didn't target the head. While Hall is reckless; this play wasn't.

Granlund and Markstrom have not been Canucks long enough to become dirt bags it seems.

At first I thought it was that dude that got dealt to edm that would've been hilarious as Taylor seemed bitter about the trade imo

TBH....aside from the stereotype of the Canucks held by us Flames fans.....the level of their dirtbagness has gone down a lot since Ryan Kesler was traded away and Burrows became more and more of a non-factor on their roster.

Yeah I don't see anything "reckless" at all with what Hall did on the play. Weird comment was weird. Just an unfortunate hockey play.

I dont exactly trust the league on matters of discipline, I think they're making most of this up as they go.

I don't think either can become dirtbags. I've always like Granlund. Markstrom's never done anything bad as far as I know. My respect for both went up, knowing that they both could have gotten involved in the scrum but instead went to shield their fallen teammate.

And good on Markstrom for giving it to the 'fans' trying to take a photo. What are you gonna do with that photo? Post it on instagram for likes or show it to your wife? Classless.

Agreed. The Sedins are also pretty classy players on that team, but after seeing this, it's hard not to like Markstrom and Granlund.

I'd like to see supplementary discipline for every player that came into contact with Larsen once he was down on the ice - a fine at the very least.

Edit: I suppose that's not possible without a penalty in place for the infraction. At least I'm assuming there isn't? Stretch out Unsportsmanlike?

You can get fined or suspended without a penalty having been called.

See Wideman, Dennis.

Big fast guy hits planted little guy with his head down.

The math on this one is as simple as 1+1.

It looks like to me Hall was expecting Larsen to go north rather than reverse, which is why Hall:

a) looked so surprised that he hit him;
b) had to skate hard to forecheck Larson cause he thought he'd be heading north.
