Apparently Rio officials were asked about the unusual colour of the water in the dive tank and declined to comment.

Who should we cheer for? France or New Zealand?

My guess is that since it's an outdoor pool in a hot and humid climate, algae or some other life form bloomed overnight.

Personally, I would like to avoid France at all costs, they are likely still smarting from the bronze medal game back in 2012.

It was on this day in 2012 that the Canadian Women's Team won Bronze in London... 4 years later we beat Germany! That coincidence gives me a good feeling about the Quarterfinal, whoever we play

Would be my guess as well. We had an outdoor pool in our yard a couple summers ago and it was amazing how quick it could change to green if the filter was left off for more than a day.

to add to the scenario.. a draw guarantees both New Zealand and France advance so don't be surprised if it's a draw.

I watched some boxing for the first time this Olympics and I was surprised that the guys didn't have helmets on. Weren't they wearing helmets last Olympics?

Crash and Bang Winger
The AIBA made a decision a couple years back to remove headgear. There were studies that showed it was less likely to result in a concussion without headgear. The IOC agreed saying it was safer but they also allowed pro boxers to enter the olympics.
