This is a really well put on tournament, the attached attractions and concert(s) afterwards is well done.
I wonder how many of those complaining about it have actually attended a game/tournament.

I was at the first two games and thought it was very, very quiet. A very different experience from previous Memorial Cup games that I've attended

Nice period for Tkachuk. Beauty assist and then a nice finish near the end. Nice hit on Provorov. Tkachuk certainly not a passenger on that line. This London team is super strong.
Jones and Pu look really good to me as well. Pu has really good speed and energy and seems to have some skill too. Jones isn't really in a range we will be picking but I like his power forward style. Pu maybe a consideration somewhere in the 2nd?
I like Juolevi but I'm not sold on the idea of Juolevi at #6. I feel like Sergachev and Chychrun have a higher upside.

Man that Dvorak is so dangerous. Strome/Dvorak should be a lethal centre ice duo for ARI soon.

Got back from the game (2 periods of it, bailed early to watch the Raps finish), Dvorak is going to be one HELL of a player. I liked him at the World Jrs, tonight took that appreciation for him to a whole new level (and I'm from Brandon).
The barn should be rocking on Wednesday as Brandon tries to force a tiebreaker and Red Deer tries to clinch a spot in the semis.

Does Bennett ever get linemates, or are we content to see him centre Jooris and Bouma for the rest of his career?

People are just so obsessed about putting a top talent on the Monahan line and putting all the eggs in one basket, what they don't get is that they don't need a top talent on that line, they just need someone who can open up the ice for Johnny and Sean, someone like Troy Brouwer, would do the job just fine.
Johnny-Sean-Brouwer/some like him
Shinkaruk-Bennett-Tkachuk(if they get him)
This is just an idea but that top 6 has everything, toughness, grit, top notch skill and well balanced.

Or:
Shinkaruk - Bennett - Nylander
Or!
Bennett-Jankowski-Nylander
Boy both of those lines look mighty appealing too.

They look very good, the main point is that you don't have to throw all the talent on one line.

The ridiculous part is they'll complain no matter what.
Host team gets pumped in a blowout loss, it's stupid and they shouldn't be there.
Host team wins the whole thing and it's stupid because they didn't earn it.

Don't take what I said so literal. Would I expect Tkachuk to always be on that top line no, will he probably get PP time with those guys ? Yes. I'm all for spreading the talent.

Yeah. What a pick by Arizona. Ranked #71 in NA in CSS final rankings after 14 points in 35 games in a season mired with injury. Taken 58th.
(Sadly, taken 4 picks after blue chip prospect Hunter Smith. )

I sincerely hope Ryoun-Noranda can put up a decent fight against London. As much fun as the Memorial Cup final is regardless, I really don't want to have spent $100, plus the time to go to Red Deer, to see a blow-out in the final. And I doubt that either Brandon or Red Deer puts up much more of a fight in a championship rematch than they did the round robin.

I disagree. If Red Deer would of capitalized on their PP early on in the game (Helewka hit the crossbar) and Fleury didn't take that stupid penalty to change the momentum of the game, it would of been a closer game. Red Deer owned London for the first 10 minutes of the first and the last 10 minutes of the third. I'm guessing London would of still won (Toth didn't play great) and I predicted a Knights win but was surprised how Red Deer came out. Red Deer hadn't played a game since April 29th so I chalk it up to being rusty.

Which one? The one that keeps 19 yr olds in Jr? That rule helps keep the CHL viable. Next everyone would be whining about the lack of talent in jr when all the quality 19's gets poached by the AHL.

Easy fix. Each NHL team gets one exemption every X number of years. Kids are being "rushed" to the NHL at times, and at times with disastrous results.

Not an easy fix. CHL would have to agree, and there is nothing in it for them.

While rusty, Red Deer also had fresher legs because they didn't just complete a long playoff grind (As much as 16-2 is a "grind"), and they knew they had to come out hard against London. Once the initial adrenaline rush of playing a Memorial Cup game in front of the home fans wore off, the Knights lapped the Rebels easily.

Not really. The NHL would simply have to choose not to renew the CHL-AHL-NHL agreement when it next expires.
However, as a matter of practicality, it is in the NHL's best interest to ensure the CHL is as strong as possible to help develop other prospects. Even if the one player a year who is ready to move up to the AHL but not ready for the NHL gets held back.

Except potentially losing talent to the USHL, Junior B, or Europe.
And I'm talking about players who leave (too) early anyway and aren't playing major junior as it stands.
You could have different 19 year old and 18 year old exemptions too. One exemption every 2 years for a 19 year old (draft +2, many of whom are already eligible) and one every 5 years for 18 year olds (draft +1). I don't think it would get used that often (you'd really have to be sure if you have to wait another 5 years) and would arguably be in the best interests of the kids.
