It's quite apparent Kadri is a better player that Monahan.

Had to finish that one on PVR this morning, but that's the Flames team we've been missing for nearly all of January. Wonderful game by everyone, and it looked like a cohesive team again.

I will say though, I either want playoffs or a top 5 pick. Nothing in between please. Don't go on a run just to finish 9th. Leave that role to Edmonton.

Granlund being healthy scratched may be a sign he is going back to the AHL soon and pave the way for a Grant call up.

Yeah I agree. Picking in the top 5 of this draft will help the Flames so much. Especially if we can pick Laine. That kid is the definition of Flames needs.

Monahan is exactly what this team needs him to be. I really hope he's a Flame for a long time.

Hockey Reference @hockey_ref
Sean Monahan is the youngest #Flames skater to have a 3-assist game since Iginla in 1997

IMO the road woes are due to having a small team who can't assert themselves. Having both Bouma and Ferland in the lineup should help big time.

I'm sure that's part of it, but I think the biggest issue for the road woes are the special teams. Teams need to play tight when on the road. You won't get favorable match-ups unless you are on the powerplay. There are plenty of road games that we've lost by 1 goal and went 0/4 or 0/5 on the powerplay. It's tougher to be the better 5-on-5 as the road team.

That said, I'm sure having Ferland and Bouma both in the line-up can assist in some momentum swings when the Flames really need a boost.

You might have something there. The team plays with much less confidence on the road.

What happened to Eric Staal? Guy looks like a shadow of his former self. It's going to be interesting to see how free agency turns out for him as I imagine teams will have widely differing opinions on his worth.
