Call me old fashioned, but I liked the way it was back in the 90s. You had to bring in a UPC code along with an entry to your local Safeway, or mail it in. Meaning to participate in the contest, you actually had to enter the contest.
I'd be willing to bet that most of the "winners" are people that were not even aware that they entered; let alone watched the Flames game.
One of the reasons I don't go out of my way to shop at Safeway anymore. I just don't see how this benefits them compared to the old way.
