Could probably be a Marc-Andre Bergeron kind of player

I hope Hickey has a strong game at some point because he's the only guy on the team who looks like he actually shaves regularly.

I just dont find that he accomplishes much out there and hes being played constantly in all situations.

the fact that we had to go to a shootout with Switzerland should be enough said regarding this vintage of team Canada. Almost as embarrassing as that one year where we tied them in the Olympics. Any assembling of Team Canada vs. Switzerland should be about 10-0 minimum. I understand they're getting better as a hockey country, but all of these Canadian kids are bona fide NHL bound players.
And the thing is, I don't really see a lack of work ethic either, they look like they're trying. It's either coaching or poor chemistry I think. Not sure.

So unimpressed with this team, from the coaching staff to the players to the uniforms, this team is Team Cana-blah! There is little to nothing to get excited about.

Yeah the groomer kit is weird. I'm not sure I'd want a groomer kit from a hockey tournament.

This year is seems Lowry is absolutely married to some players who just don't seem to be clicking right now. Konecny could use more minutes, some PP time, Stephens as well, and I think Fleury and Hickey would be more mature options on the PP.

And I hate to be defeatist but if they play like this against Sweden it is going to be one hell of a grim New Year's Eve.
They'll get torn to shreds.

I've been saying it on here for years in the WHL playoff threads. Virtanen absolutely disappears on big stages. He might carve out an ok career as a bottom 6 player but as a go-to guy, he will never make it. He's only proving it further this year.

Yes, because we've never seen a team Canada struggle with lesser teams in the past then turn it up and win when it counts.

Virtanen is a tough one to understand. I remember seeing him at a Blazers game in his draft year. They were on the back half of a western swing so I wrote it off as fatigue. You could see he had all the skill without the results. The funny thing is, to this day I say the same thing every time I watch. He has all the tools, but to this day I have not seen that manifest itself to anything.

I'm really unimpressed with Marner.
Seems like he wants to do it all himself, then when he actually makes a pass, his linemates can't pick it up. I guess that may say more about his linemates though.
The only two forwards who seem to be able to do anything with the puck are Strome and Barzal.
