Well, that pretty much kills any chance of Canada winning the pool unless the Swedes or States craps the bed tomorrow.

I feel like Mitchell Stephens is being criminally misused. He and Barzal have great chemistry.

If we're being honest, Canada does not look very good. A lot of their shots are getting blocked, they aren't using each other very well, not quick enough on one-timers, etc. This team does not look like a championship caliber team. Strome and occasionally Marner are the only ones worth writing home about.
|
Not overly physical either. Although I'm not watching today, at work
That's usually been Canada's thing at this tournament. Physical dominance.

STOP USING VIRTANEN FFS. Wow Lowry is as stubborn as Hartley sometimes.

Was this team picked based on who could skate around in a big circle?

I think everyone has played with a "Virtanen" in their hockey career, which makes it very frustrating to watch. Just keep going to the well on that move from the corner to the front of the net bro...

LOL, I was just admiring the circling around the net.
Team Canada's been thinking the play well, but I see a lack of execution, particularly from Virtanen.

I sense Doom. Shootouts almost always lead to disappointment.

I am also unimpressed with Hicketts.

Brandon Hickey is a stud.
Gio-Brodie
Hickey-Hamilton
Within two years. Book it.

Classic case of coach overplaying his own junior player. He got boxed out on one of Canada's goals today. Made up for it by scoring a goal, but just not offence overall from him.

Can Hicketts be a regular in the NHL ? I can understand mini forwards, but I don't think I'd want a mini Dman. Maybe just a power play specialist ?

Why didn't a guy like Mangiapane get a look for Team Canada? A guy like Virtanen doesn't seem to have much creativity.

The men's groomer kit still kills me. Every other year, it's usually a watch.
