Go Indians and White Sox!
Jays have as many wins as KC now, if they lost tonight we be tied with them for first overall in the AL.
Does anyone know who holds the tie break between the Royals and Jays?

Jays have the tiebreak over the Royals.
Gibbons with a glass of champagne at the post game press-conference, fantastic!

Man, the excitement is real. The Jays-Red Sox series in Montreal next April virtually sold out both games in 2 hours this morning. For pre-season baseball. Six months from now.
And with Sportsnet reporting that MLB is receptive to expansion, and Montreal and Mexico City apparently favourites, the timing is perfect.

Hopefully the Rodgers group open up their wallet to Price.

The Jays have made at least 80 million dollars on top of their projected revenue since the trade deadline in added ticket sales, merch, concessions, and tv ads. That should make it easier to sign Price, even if he costs 30 million dollars.
Take Buherle's 14.5 mil, add in Romero's 7.5 mil that are coming off the books, that's 22 right there. Replace Buherle with either an internal option (Sanchez/Osuna/Hutchison) or make another trade for someone that's cheaper like Estrada was this year.

Yankess won today, magic number still 5.
Indians are leading KC though, 9-5 in the 6th.
If the Tribe holds on the Jays will be the #1 team in the AL.

Indians win, Jays now tied for first in the AL and hold the tie breaker.
On July 28th (Tulo trade) the Jays were 12 games back of the Royals, who led the AL at the time.
Jays have gone 39-14 since.

Pretty shocking the run the jays have been on. I remember when we were chasing the Yankees and hoping to win a playoff spot. Now we're 1st in the American League.

Nice.
Now it's a battle in the last 8 games with the Jays only needing to tie them to get home field in the playoffs.
The Jays have 4 Vs Tampa, 4 Vs Baltimore
The Royals have 1 Vs Cleveland 1 Vs Cubs (make up game) 3 vs Chicago White Sox 3 vs Minnesota
Jays have the easier competition with the Royals playing 5 of their 8 against teams battling for a playoff spot.

Guyer had led off the game with a triple in the 1st, and eventually came in to score. But Buerhle has since settled, and had a pretty easy 3-up, 3-down in the 2nd.
Jays got 1 run on 2 hits and a walk in the 1st.
1-1, bottom of the 2nd

nothing in the 2nd for the Jays, but they are doing what they do - forcing a lot of pitches.

Right now it would be tough to justify putting Buehrle on the post season roster. He can't get outs without giving up runs in September.

Need to get the offense going. Hard to win regardless if you're only getting 1 run.

If he can get a hit here, it's game on again.
