Calgary finishes 2nd in the Pacific Division, just 4 points back of Anahem
Beat LA in round 1 of the playoffs in 5 games
Go to game 7 of WCF (toss up to win)
Monahan finishes 2nd in Selke voting but wins Lady Byng
Gaudreau gets 75 points
Ramo wins starting job and Hiller is traded
Edmonton continues to suck, McDavid is underwhelming, TSN unsure why

The Flames start the season hot thanks to awesome goaltending. The wins start piling up as they make incredible comeback after incredible comeback. In spite of an 8 game losing streak, playoffs start to look like an actual possibility. They then lose their best player and captain to injury. They clinch a playoff spot, at home, in the second last game of the year and simultaneously knock out the defending cup champion LA Kings. They then win a playoff round versus their arch rivals, in six games, at home, and become the darlings of the NHL. Hudler is top ten in NHL scoring and wins the Lady Byng. Gaudreau gets 64 points and is nominated for the Calder but comes in third. Monahan gets 62 points and is widely lauded as being an emerging top two way C. Giordano and Brodie were nearly the best D pairing in the league, if not the best. Bob Hartley wins coach of the year.

The Flames first win in Anaheim will come as a direct result of Ferland still being in Bieska's head. The caveman will make a stupid mistake while trying to avoid a hit which will lead to Stajan burying the game winner late in the third period of a tie game.
Gio will sign a long-term extension before the end of July. Hudler will sign a surprisingly cap-friendly extension around Christmas.
Jankowski will be named the captain in Providence and be in the Hobey Baker discussion all season. He will sign with the Flames after Providence's season ends and get in a few games late in the season. He'll score his first NHL goal in Edmonton on April 2.

The super dooper hyper analytics crowd discovers a new metric that absolutely accounts for 100% of results in the game: the TwizzleRuth stat. Yes, it turns out that wins and losses in the NHL can be perfectly predicted based on the ratio of Twizzlers to Baby Ruth bars sold at the concessions during the game.
Johnny Gaudreau wins the Art Ross trophy with 104 points. Connor McDavid finds himself relegated to fourth-line duty for much of the season, and scores just 16 points as a rookie. Oiler fans show up on CP to brag that McDavid is visually better than Gaudreau, and predict that their team will win six Stanley Cups in a row, starting real soon now. The CP servers melt under the strain.
The Flames go 57-17-8, advance to the Stanley Cup finals, and lose a nailbiter in Game 7 to Columbus. The game is decided on a freak non-call, as a disputed goal is referred to the war room in Toronto, but everybody there has snuck out to smoke a joint and nobody bothers to make a ruling on the play.
Since Baby Ruth bars are not sold in Canada, the TwizzleRuth index predicts that the Flames should have had a winning percentage of .000. Stats fiends point to their Game 7 SCF loss as proof that their record is totally unsustainable, and boldly predict that they will never win another game until Nestle begins marketing Baby Ruth in Canada. Lambert agrees.

That would only happen if they made the net at least one puck width wider all the way around

Sam Bennett wins Calder
Dougie Hamilton wins Norris
Sean Monahan wins Rocket Richard, Lady Bing, Selke
John Gaudreau wins Hart, Art Ross
Michael Ferland wins King Clancy
Joni Ortio wins the Vezina
Bob Hartley wins Jack Adams
Flames win the Stanley Cup
Josh Jooris wins the Conn Smythe with 8 goals in 5 games.
We basically ruin everyone's season.

Flames win the division and are considered to win the President's trophy all season, but end up 3rd in points league wide.
Flames make the WCF.
Also... my predictions from last year came 100% true

- Flames win a game in Anaheim
- CP has to shut down when the Flames lose Bouma in the expansion draft
- Ortio gets picked up when the Flames send him down by Edmonton
- Flames ice a full goon crew for the exhibition game against McDavid and Hartley still gets fined even though he was coaching the other team during the concurrent games. CP Explodes.

I have no clue where to put this but since this is kinda making the playoffs kinda talk...
EA Sports posted that and I thought it was quite cool as I believe it was BINGO who did a little article on the Thanksgiving deadline.

I always find these threads neat to go through.
Here are some of the bold-ish predictions made that seem to be playing out:

Could be bang on. Impressive, considering this was said on the heels of a Round 2 playoff exit.

Seems to be. Sitting at 17 goals and 37 points at the moment. Pro-rated over 82 games would be 21 goals and 45 points.

Pro-rating their seasons over 82 games:
Brodie: 48 points
Hamilton: 44 points

Better return that I'd have guessed when I said this.
I never included the not so bold predictions that came true (ex: Hudler gets traded at deadline).

They lead the league in PP% effectiveness and PK% effectiveness. They are a top 10 defense in terms of shots against, goals against, and save percentage. They are absolutely snakebitten in OT and shootouts, going a combined 2-19. They squeak into the playoffs anyway.

Gaudreau fails to break 50 points.
Monahan breaks his jaw in a fight at practice with Giordano and misses the entire season.
Bennett only scores 10 goals, all in the same game.
Ortio plays out of his mind all season and posts a league leading sv% and GAA.
Flames PP and PK lead the league.
Flames are dead last in even strength scoring.
The Macarena makes a come back after being selected as the Flames goal song.

Next year's:
Both the Flames and Johnny crack 100 pts.
They will have a 15 game win streak.
They will reach the conference final.
