To discover the prices, you would have had to request a reprint of your postseason tickets on internal ticket stock.

Gotcha. I just use the app and email.

So the conclusion of all this....is that they do in fact set prices for rounds 1 and 2 before the playoffs even begin, so ticket prices in the secondary market for round 2 (ie. Stub Hub) in no way affect actual face value (as someone alluded to).

Or you call the Flames ticket office and ask. My tickets were $223/ticket round one, $261/ticket round two.

I always thought re-sell sites would be astronomically expensive, especially come playoff time. Yet, I can pick up a couple press level tickets for Friday for about $230.

Personally, I don't find that outrageous for the playoff experience. Of course, I hardly get to games as is so maybe my evaluation on value is way off?

Holy crap, you folks weren't kidding with the service fees. $28 on a $125 ticket.

Oh well. At least I get to be a part of the C of Red in the playoffs again!

Wrong in many ways. The prices for rounds one and two (and possibly three and four) were set out over a month before the playoffs started. The Flames were in a precarious point in the standings at the time prices were announced and weren't guaranteed playoffs. The STH invoices came out which showed the price per ticket and the discount received from the face value. The game packs were told what they would pay. None of this had anything to do with what happened on the secondary market in the first round.

It's easy for those people who work in big conglomerates or oil companies that earn 6 figure salaries. They love their seats in the lower bowl, and don't care how much they're paying. But they don't make up the entire fan base of the flames.

Make it accessible for fans to go and watch their hockey team.
People can go to the game and enjoy the atmosphere for reasonable prices. The problem is that Calgary has 1,000,000 people and the Dome only seats 19,289. Not everyone in Calgary wants to go watch, but when you have more demand than supply, prices will rise. The Flames try and get many people in at cheaper prices, like the third level, but there are still more people that want to go than they have seats available. You can enter in the Sport Chek or Co-Op draws, or hope to receive codes in the draws.

Just because you want a ticket doesn't mean you are guaranteed the right to receive a ticket. If you want to be guaranteed a ticket at a reasonable price then become a season ticket holder.

You are right that the Flames haven't made the playoffs in six years. How is it that fans who did not support the team during that time are now wanting to go, but are complaining that prices are too high. These people could have gone to multiple games over the last six years, many at below STH cost. The Flames didn't even sell out every game this year. I believe it was the 3rd or 4th home game of the season when the sell out streak ended. There were many games during the year with empty seats. Why didn't these people go then? Why do the Flames owe the people who haven't supported them over the last years anything? You haven't been to a game in 6 years and now you want a $50 seat? Nope. Not happening.
