200% lol.
The face value of the tickets alone is over 100% of STH value. The Flames themselves must be scalpers.
So try 300% - 400%. Do I apologize for that. Not at all. You would not believe the responses I've received for tickets. It's an easy sell from a product that's high in demand. I've sold plenty in the regular season well below face and cost. I have no problem reaping that back.
And now I'm going to round two - conscious clear.

It'll be interesting to see if game 3 even sells out. I think the flames may have over priced the lower seats on ticketmaster just a tad.

TicketLiquidator is one that I bought through once before. It was cheaper than stubhub.

Not looking good at the moment. Seems like the prices are dropping quickly for resale as well.

I was just going to say that things are overpriced. I love the Flames, but I'm not spending obscene amounts of money to watch. In my little socialist utopia, lowers for playoffs should be $150, 2nd for $99, and PL for $39. Since playoffs are pure profits for the owners, it would be great to see playoffs affordable for most Calgarians.
Yes I know supply and demand, chatter chatter blah blah blah, I don't care. Sports can be something more than just making money.

A friend won the lottery and offered me the chance to buy the tickets, but I passed. I would like to go, but not paying those prices.

The Flames should be concerned about selling out the game. $400 for lower bowl goal seats and $600 for club is gross. It’s clear that they followed what was sold on ticket exchange and stub hub in the first round and it has backfired. The sales team should be embarrassed if those seats go unsold.

Heads should role if this game doesn't sell out. If the Flames look at the secondary market during peak demand as to what a ticket should cost. Why don't they drop prices during the regular season when tickets are selling on the NHL Ticket Exchange for much less than face value?

I am a season ticket holder and I try to go to around 8 games per year. I have two children and my wife and I have busy lives. Between my hockey, my sons hockey, my wife's activities, vacation, etc, I have to sell some of my tickets (I am not wealthy enough to just give them away, and even if I was, I still think I would sell them).
Typically I just post them at work on our internal company classified page (that has a restriction of only sell at face value or below). Many of my tickets I sell below face value (still at a profit) and I sell some below my cost (New Jersey this year for example). In the past I would bundle a popular game with a not popular game to ensure I sold both and got fair value. I also donate a few games and from time to time will give away a set of tickets last minute to friends, family or coworkers (especially preseason games).
This year I started using Ticketsnow.com to sell Oiler, Canucks, Penguins tickets that all would gather a premium. It is easy to do, and allows me to sell my other tickets lower than I would normally want, or donate them. At the end of the year, I want to minimize my ticket cost so I can maintain the privilege of being a season ticket holder. The Flames are clearly endorsing (and profiting from) this as they have made the avenue of selling easy.
At the end of the day, I don't want to sell my tickets for a premium to people I know, work with, or to people on CP. I am okay with selling to the masses. But I also don't want to give away my tickets for less than market value. There is a guy I work with who regularly buys my tickets, and I am sure he is turning around and selling them.
.....
Also, the market seems to have dropped significantly for tonight's game - PL tickets are now being listed on Ticketsnow for $50 where they were $200+ before.

It's clear that they did not follow what was sold on ticket exchange and stub hub in the first round. I picked up my tickets before the playoffs started. The prices were already printed on the tickets.

This issue needs to be taken seriously by the Flames. The prices of tickets are at such extortionate rates now that it's making it difficult for fans to attend the games. This is the first time the team has made the playoffs in 6 years; people should be able to go and enjoy this atmosphere for reasonable prices.
It's easy for those people who work in big conglomerates or oil companies that earn 6 figure salaries. They love their seats in the lower bowl, and don't care how much they're paying. But they don't make up the entire fan base of the flames.
Make it accessible for fans to go and watch their hockey team.

How do you guarantee the tickets go to fans? If you sell them cheap, then they still end up in the hands of scalpers who then sell them for lots of cash. Or a fan gets them cheap, and realizes they can sell for 400% of what they paid for them and would rather use that money paying off studen loans, or buying a flat screen TV to watch lots of games. And in the end, the Flames leave a lot of money on the table that is going in the pockets of the scalpers. If you think about it, if you buy tickets for $200, but can sell them for $800, it is kind of like paying $800 for the tickets if you choose to not sell them. The actual value of the tickets is not the face value, but the value that the market places on them.
The Flames are in the business of maximizing their profits - most tickets they can sell and the highest margin. Theoretically good for the fan as well - gives us additional revenue to spend on players, coaches, scouts, jumbotrons, etc etc.

Prices change round to round. Round 2 is significantly higher than round 1.

Round 1 and 2 face value prices were set before the playoffs even started and revealed to STHs.

As a STH, that's news to me. I couldn't access my tickets until a few days before each round started.

I think they've definitely overpriced the 200 level tickets (starting around $260). I think a lot of fans are willing to shell out that amount of money once for a playoff experience but it's tough to ask them to come back for multiple rounds.
