Not really the best to have to judge things off of one game, but if they decide that it didn't work out they could still give him some more time in Addy to learn the system before he has to be brought up for good.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I've read so many conflicting reports on whether it's one game more or two games more before he's waiver eligible that I have no idea which is right. I expect that after the weekend, it won't matter anyway. Shore is projected to play next game, Granlund isn't. Shore's here for the duration of the season.

That 3rd line looks great. Colborne has really upped his physical game lately. Cant wait to see what Shore can bring between those two. If he comes as advertised, then we have a 3rd line that can win key faceoffs, battle in all 3 zones and wear down opponents physically. Great potential, hope they can put it together

Like everyone has mentioned I am excited to see Shore in the lineup.

I'd like to see Byron get put on waivers as I'm confident he would clear. Granlund and Byron would both benefit from time in the AHL to work on areas of their game that need to be polished.

Shore isn't a faceoff guru or something, he's just better than Granlund. So he's adequate.

365 FOW, 411 FOL, 47.0%.

Seems he's a positive for Corsi/Fenwick as well, albeit with 60% of his zone starts in his career being in the offensive zone. Not surprising he'd be sheltered a bit as a young pro. He probably will continue to be sheltered here somewhat in a 3rd line role.

Not sure if expecting him to be strong on faceoffs is realistic.

It is an area both Treliving and Weiss have identified it as an area he needs to work on.

Will he be better than Granlund? probably.

Nothing since Treliving came on board.

I am glad the hot start hasn't changed that.

Not surprising. The Flames clearly picked him up believing he improves the NHL roster.

But, it is another body that can't go down. The weeks leading up to the trade deadline are going to be an interesting for us.

Moves are going to happen. And I personally suspect some younger guys are going to be part of it. Hopefully a youngish, NHL ready defenceman.

Hopefully he's better than Granlund. Its just nice to have Colborne on the right side as a secondary option if Shore gets waived out. As a center it gives you a little more confidence to cheat on draws and not worry about getting tossed

You said he and his line will be able to "win key faceoffs". That, to me, alluded to some above average faceoff ability. Sorry if I misread you. Chances are if there's a key faceoff, he won't be on the ice for it unless it's after an icing.

I wonder if Raymond has much trade value.

He seems to be the obvious odd man out.

You might get someone who is also struggling on their new contract for Raymond. Like say Emelin?

I get a good feeling about this guy. Adds some nice size up the middle - seems a perfect 3/4 Centre for this team - as the play by play guy described him.

I just worry and hope we don't trade Granlund - again I think an important piece for this team going forward. But with both Shore and Granlund at some point someone's gotta go - whether it's Stajan or someone else. I think Bennett ends up a winger for the Flames long term.

Could see a guy like Granlund moved for a D like Harrington or Merrill or something close to that.

This trade was clearly made to give Shore a shot at full time NHL duty and he is likely here to stay. Obviously the scouts and GM believe in this kid so I am excited to see if we got another Colborne or Russell like pickup here

I don't think they'll trade Granlund, he's just easier to send back to the farm. could use it too to spark his offensive game again anyways. Year 2 into his pro hockey career. Can't imagine there's a trade out there good enough to move him....yet.

I wonder if Colborne takes the draws period. He's been coming on in the circle and Shore has been reported to need to work on face offs.

I was wondering if that might happen as well. Maybe not every draw, but if Shore is comfortable playing on the right side he and Colborne can switch whenever it's needed. Shore needs experience and needs to take draws to learn, but maybe he takes all the neutral zone draws and Colborne takes the defensive zone draws for now? Wondering what Hartley has up his sleeve for those two.
