Lets be honest... MacTavish doesn't have the stones to trade Hall.

I hope they trade him and he starts putting up 40 goal seasons instantly
Didn't Hall win two Memorial Cups? It's not like we're talking about a Jay Bouwmeester situation where the guy has won nothing in his career.

Also the Flyers could be a good fit. The Oilers have been interested in Coburn for a while and the Flyers have really good center depth (Giroux, Schenn, Couturier, Laughton). A package of either Schenn or Couturier plus Coburn would surely be an interesting starting point in negotiations. A top 6 of

Hall-Giroux-Voracek
Raffl-Schenn/Couturier-Simmonds

would surely be an enticing thought for Hextall too, I imagine.
The last thing the Flyers want to do is trade a defenseman or 2 way centre for Taylor Hall. They are so brutal defensively

I bet the flyers move Schenn before they move Coutourier.

Gotta wonder how involved Katz is with this team right now. Did he tell MacT to do something right now and thats why Eakins was fired after the last press conference seemed to say things were gonna be status quo for a while?
Is Katz saying who is tradable and who isn't?

"Dreger said he believes Taylor Hall will be shopped/discussed. Said Hall isn't willing to adapt. Dreger said he's choosing words carefully"

Carefully? sure Dreger...you complete idiot.

Winning in junior is not the same as winning in the NHL. A skilled player can coast on skill alone in junior, especially if he has an advantage over most of his opponents in physical maturity. None of that gets you very far once you make the show.

Fall for Hall has new meaning.
... for Eakins
Culture Bul-ture new catch word for all failings.
.. and McTavish is right where I want him tied to the tracks

Their season has been over for a month and now they are thinking about making moves? Doesn't make any sense... though that's not a surprise.

OT, Not sure what Bouwmeester has with the discussion, other than irrational hate, but he does have 4 gold medals. A lot more winning than most people in their careers.

I would give this some interest if it came from someone legit like BM or anyone else than Dreger. Hell, even Kypreos is more reliable than that smuck. Might as well have been reported by Eklund. If it had to do with Toronto I might give it some credibility but it isn't so I have to believe Dreger is full of crap as usual.

I have always thought Hall was the Dion Phanuef of forwards. Lots of skill, minimal smarts, and had a decent start to his career. Trading him signals this as rebuild 3.0 since the 06 cup run.

Trading Taylor Hall would be the smartest thing the Oilers could do, I have a feeling he's not well liked by his teammates. His teammates are not blind, they can see how he plays the game. If they're lucky enough to get McDavid or Eichel they need to make sure Hall isn't the voice of the locker room.

Ideally they would trade all of them with the exception of RNH. One of Eichel/McDavid/Hanifin and RNH +Leon + the pieces from trading Hall/Eberle/Yakupov would put them in a much better position. Fortunately that'll never happen.

Any issues that Hall has on or off ice are a direct consequence of the utterly crappy oiler development system. They brought these golden boys in with no additional time in junior or the AHL, gave them top line minutes and massive contracts before they had earned them.

They were taught that it's okay to lose and put in a half assed effort. They were never expected to have any defensive responsibilities, just put up the points, doesn't matter how many goals against. They haven't been pushed to improve in camp, practice or in the regular season. After a blowout loss Hallsy, Ebs, etc. are happy to hit the club and have a good time, not like anyone will hold them to account.

Any team trading for one of the golden boys will need to factor in a retraining regiment (reprogramming) when deciding what to trade for them. I don't want them anywhere near our team, not unless you can get one of them for a 2nd rounder which isn't going to happen.

Dreger getting that diatribe directly from Lowe without much question, using a schill like Dreger to get the word out with less blow back then Lowe himself. In return Dreger gets into the inner circle and gets scoops such as this.

Hall may be in play, the tougher part is finding a return that the Oilers can justify, and that will be willing to waive NMC and NTC to go to Edmonton.

Actually pretty exciting to think about where Hall could land. Both Islanders and Flyers have the pieces to make it happen. Would love to see him on either of those teams. I think the personal issues are blown way out of proportion. Seguin faced the same criticism and now is leading the league in points. Hall just needas to go to a half decent team. Realistically he's been quite the pro considering he's had to play his entire career in Edmonton.
