I'd say the majority of those 200 players wouldn't have finished 7th in the league in points last year and be in 17th this year.

As it was, I felt the refs blew the only penalty that they DID call all game...they missed a clear checking from behind, but tagged Bollig for roughing when he stepped up to defend his teammate, which wouldn't have been necessary, if they HAD made the call.
You are correct, the change in the way the game was officiated as the game went on is a major problem. The Sharks' tying goal should not have counted since Pavelski cross checked Hjalmarsson near the crease just before the goal. Later in the final period, the referees missed calls to both teams.

How does it lack class? Taylor Hall would probably be a great addition to the Canadian Women's Olympic roster. Women's hockey is pretty terrible and is played at no where near the same level as men's professional hockey. Is that a slight against women? No. That's just the way it is, and it is not ever likely to change.

The point that's been made many times is that the role that Hall would be put in at the Olympics, he would not succeed at. He would not be on the Top 2 lines scoring the goals....we have schlubs like Crosby and Stamkos for that. Hall would be put in a 4th-line role and expected to hold his own defensively...which we've seen time and time again, he just doesn't do well.

It's the same reason why Ryan wasn't put on the American team...he can't be put in his ideal role, and there are others who play the role he would have much better, so he doesn't get to go.

It's not just about tallying up the goals and points, and picking the top guys.

Just cruised by the Oilers pgt on hf and tripped over this beauty

Hall should be on Team Canada. No idea why poeple are knocking him. He is as good as Tavares.
This is why you never start to feel sorry for Oilers fans. They deserve every bad thing to happen to their team.

they just don't get it. Their team was built like picking a fantasy hockey roster based on points, which is how they want to build the team Canada team. There is a lot more to a team make up then points. You would think they would get that after watching their teams over the last few years.
