Wow completely stunned at this. IMO Feaster did a commendable job in the last few months with the trades to bring in Smid, Russell and Colborne. Hartley must be on the hot seat now and I pray to God that Burke doesn't trade our 1st like he did for Kessel and also hope he doesn't hire Ron Wilson.
Let's hope we stay the course and go through an actual rebuild.

IMO Wisebrod was smoke and mirrors. Lots of big talk but IMO the last draft before he took over was far superior to his drafts.

This tweet from Mirtle I found confusing
James Mirtle @mirtle 4m
Flames had to clean house. Front office sounded like epitome of dysfunction, which I imagine Burke gathered fairly quickly.

In an earlier interview, Burke said that he usually makes his most dramatic staffing and player moving decisions in early December to allow people "to settle down in time for Christmas & New Year's Eve".

This move was obvious the day Burke was hired. He's just not the background type.

The only logical explanation is that after Iginla came back to Calgary this week he realized how much he missed it and told ownership he was coming back. As the GM. Watch for his retirement presser at Noon.

I'd almost guess there was a disagreement about Burke's roster freeze for the holidays. There are a few players out there now to be traded, I wonder if Feaster was pursuing deals despite the freeze in place.

Wow did not see that coming. Thought Feaster and co. were doing a good job all in all. Not like Feaster inherited a championship team and did well enough making some tough changes to the direction of the team. Plugged some exciting prospects into the system via draft and trades as well.
Someone already beat me to the punch but Darcy Regier was the first replacement to pop into my head...

So happy.
I liked Weisbrod, but regime change has to take them all. I'm 50% less scared now that this rebuild will fail. The other 50% will wait until I see who the replacement is.
