I thought Feaster was actually doing a good job, instead of having a ego get in his way he has surrounded himself with staff that are of value and made the right decisions... very disappointed, hope there is more to it than a full endorsement of Burke.

The way it is worded with the effective immediately, and the fact neither of them were given any kind of token lesser positions sounds like something happened. I don't know what would be so controversial at this point in the season though?

Does this finally mean Butler will stop getting top 2 minutes from the coach?

(yes, I worked in a Bulter reference in this thread)

The only thing that makes sense is that this has to do with Iginla's empty net chance being intercepted.

I think it kinda makes sense? Perhaps Burke wanted to take hold of the team before a really important trade deadline for the franchise?

I don't want to be that guy but I hope this doesn't affect Gaudreau

Not a big fan of Feaster, but even less of a fan of unjustified firings.
Unjustified? He should have been fired after the O'Rilley offer sheet. Along with numerous other reasons.

Not unhappy to see Feaster go... I've had enough of his intellectual honesty

really?? Drafts have been solid, the prospects are doing amazing in every development league (CHL, NCAA, AHL).

Bringing in guys like russel, some goalies that may or may not work, and clear path of injecting youth yet maintaining the vets. the heat are the best team in the AHL.

My guess: Feaster/Weisbrod and Burke's rebuild plan didn't fall in line, where burke wanted to make some big moves but feaster/weisbrod not on the same page.

I'm glad that burke is a USA hockey guy, as i would have been concerned if this impacted Gaudreau's view of CGY. Got a sense he had a good relationship with feaster/weisbrod.

Anybody else think the flames will be in on any phanuef rumours ?

Really disagree with this move, thought Feaster was doing well with the rebuild and the directon of this team

Certainly surprised by the timing of this, but I never believed Feaster was the right man to lead this team back to contender status. In my opinion, Feaster is an okay GM, but we need better.

Wow didn't see this coming. Can't wait to hear from Burke.

You think this would have waited until an off day though.
