There goes another one:
Scott Mitchell@SUNMitchell48s
Joe West will be out for an extended period after dislocating his shoulder. Doesn't sound promising. #calstampeders #CFL

Sucks! I knew when he fell akwardly at the end zone, he must have hurt his shoulder. It doesn't look good but i was hoping he didn't get hurt that much.
Hopefully Mo Price gets back next week to replace Joe West.

For a second consecutive week, Calgary Stampeders kicker Rene Paredes has been honoured by the Canadian Football League as the special teams player of the week.
Paredes was four-for-four in field-goal tries — including a season-long 41-yarder — during the Stampeders’ 38-27 win over the Montreal Alouettes at McMahon Stadium on Saturday and added a pair of converts for a total of 14 points. Including playoffs, Paredes has now been successful on 37 straight field-goal attempts — an unprecedented feat in league history — and his regular-season streak stands at 29, one shy of Paul McCallum’s CFL record.

You can't claim that Huff doesn't find quality depth. The Carr signing looked a little odd at the time but now with the injuries looks genius. Hopefully these guys gel quickly with BLM or Glenn as the Bombers pass rush won't leave these guys with much time in the pocket waiting for receivers to get open.

Dave Dickenson: “The encouraging thing, quarterback-wise, is Drew looked pretty good today. I think he's pretty close." #calstampeders #CFL

Hufnagel says starting QB will be decided at game time between Bo Mitchell and Drew Tate. Glenn will not play #cfl

Interesting stuff.
Quote:
Over the span of his 10-year CFL career, Nik Lewis has committed various and sundry transgressions in the eyes of the officials.
But this past winter, the punishing slotback figured he had stepped offside in the eyes of his employer for the last time.
In fact, Lewis was convinced the final gun had sounded on his time as a Calgary Stampeder.
“I thought I was gone,” Lewis says. “Honestly, I thought I was gone.
He’s still here.
“It didn’t happen, and that’s just the nature of the business,” Lewis says. “So my job is to go out, help this team win, put up the numbers and be a leader and a role model to some of the younger guys and keep everyone practising hard and striving to be better.”
Sources say the Stampeders quietly explored the possibility of moving Lewis this winter for reasons other than his on-field performance.

When they say the starting QB is a "game time decision" does that mean will will not find out who starts until the first snap, or do they have to announce it prior to that?

They have to name their rosters 24 hours ahead that doesn't mean the back up doesn't start under center.

According to Vicky Hall on the Fan 960 this afternoon she said that Glenn and Tate both have one year left after this one remaining on their contracts. Mitchell has two years.
I also heard from posters here previously that Glenn and Mitchell were free agents after this season. So I'm not sure who to believe. Assuming Vicky is correct protecting Mitchell is more of a no-brainer imo. If Tate starts next week and remains healthy for the rest of the year he makes the decision a difficult one but I would be shocked if Tate can remain healthy.

I think Vicky is wrong, we've heard from multiple people though our podcasts that what she said isn't the case.

Dave Rowe was on CHED last night and said Glenn is a free agent at the end of the year.
