Bennett handing the Cup to Tkachuk is pretty cool. Wish it happened here. Jerseys are pretty close, I'll take it.
Thank you forever for not letting Edmonton win. Forever Flames.

Compare our roster even with Johnny and Tkachuk to the Panthers. The center depth and higher end wingers just aren't comparable at all.

I mean, it's impossible to say what sort of butterfly effect a hypothetical extension 5 years would look like today, but I don't think it's a stretch to say Calgary would be in a massively superior position than we are now.

I doubt I'd have any effect on the Stanley Cup.

Also, hasn't been brought up much at all in the threads, but the SCF winning goal against the Oilers, was scored by the son of a former 8 year Calgary Flame.

I see it as he inadvertently blocked the oilers from a cup.

Former Flame Brett Kulak gave up way too much space for the winning goal. True Flames blood in his system to let Edmonton win

Tkachuk is such a beauty. He just fully jumped back into my good graces after winning and making those comments. It stung a lot to watch him and Bennett hoisting the cup.
Kudos to Zito as well for making the necessary moves to get his team over the hump. It took serious cajones to move Weegar and Huberdeau but he clearly knew what his team needed.

Tkachuk is the top personality in the game. Great player on the ice, and an entertaining, poised, and smart quote off it. Unlike a lot of hockey players, he clearly loves playing the game and being a star athlete in the public eye. He’s great for the league, and I’m a huge fan.

No one hates the Oilers more than me. I'm glad FLA won, and I honestly laugh at Tkachuk going full Heel on them.
That said, Watching Bennet and Tkachuk prove their value after both players asked for a trade out of the market stings.
Maybe I don't deserve nice things, but it sucks to watch your two best draft picks in the last decade win on another team.

Here's to another 16 years before they get back to the finals. Better yet, just wait until I'm no longer living so I don't have to experience it again.

They won, and they did good things in the first 3 rounds. But the finals was all about Bob, Barkov and guys like Rodrigues and Lundell. Tkachuk had a goal and two assists. Bennett had one more assist.

Correct, they contributed to the run but Tkachuk is their 5th...maybe 4th best player in terms of impact on this cup. Flames would be better with him but nowhere near a cup. Preventing the Oilers championship might be worth it.
Huberdeau's cap aside if you traded Huberdeau/Weegar for Tkachuk tomorrow how much better would the Flames actually be? They certainly wouldn't be contenders and would have a massive hole on D. If only Brad didn't give away the first the trade wouldn't even look bad.
