Eichel must have been reading this thread yesterday. 2 goals on us and 9 points in 4 games. Lol.

Correct. They invested a high pick in him. I don't think they trade him.

Now that's he's in college, the college player rules apply to him, so they own his rights until 2028.

I remember when he was there for us after we traded down the first time and BT traded the pick again. High skilled guy but questions about compete/motor. and as you say, injuries have taken a toll. Where would he slot into the lineup though? Needs to be top 9 to be effective.

Points versus Calgary don't prove much (though he had a great game last night).
Not sure where you get your nine points in 4 games though. Last 4 games he has 4 points, and was shut out the game before last. He has 9 points total versus the Flames since going to Vegas (in 12 games). He actually had a better PPG versus Calgary in Buffalo (7 in 7).
But that's not that unusual. A good but not elite centre like Scheifele has 26 points in 25 games versus Calgary versus Eichel's 16 in 19. JT Miller has 34 in 25.

You must be looking at something else (goals maybe?), he had four points in his first game and has a point in every game (7 going into the Flames’ game, 9 after 4).

Oh, I thought he was talking just versus the Flames

He's obviously having a great start to the year. Way above his average.

I'd love to take flyers on guys like Lapierre and sillinger. I honestly think that they would be cheaper to trade for than most people think. Especially lapierre, who is in a position to fail in Washington.
The problem i see is that calgary has tied its hands in the center position, and to a lesser extent at forward. Zary or lapierre as 4th line center isn't great.
Still, better than what the Capitals are doing with him.
