A deal with the Oilers for any of our top UFAs to be will never happen. The price would be too high.
The starting point would be a 1st, likely not lottery protected and Edmonton wouldn't do that. Not with Calgary anyway.
The threat of helping your biggest rival goes both ways I would think.

If the best offer for anyone on this roster comes from Edmonton, you put them on the red arrow and sign the paperwork.
None of them have done anything noteworthy enough to warrant “don’t trade them to Edmonton” - we’re not talking Iggy or Kipper here. Lindholm has a Selke nomination and one 40G season.
####, we gonna not trade Lindholm to Vancouver for the same reason, even if they’d surely give us a haul for another Swedish centre who’d help them convince their other Swedish Elias to stay?

Minor trade.
Calen Addison from the Wild to the Sharks, for Adam Raska and a draft pick.

Go figure I say an Oiler deal would never happen and then Sec posts that right under me.
If its the Oilers, I give up. I know nothing of the ways of hockey management

Like I said I could see Hanifin as a good trading piece but for a contender and not for Philly. I don't mind Konecny or the return posted above, but a third-party team would need to come in to give Philly the assets. There would have to be some serious contractual talks between Philly and Hanifin for Hanifin to consider signing there for 8 years. I think personally if I was Hanifin I would test the waters of free agency, see what team out there would give me the best deal. For Calgary's sake, just focus on getting the best return contending or no contending team, but most likely a contending team. I think Treliving is still going to go for him.
|
The other piece for Columbus is they did this after getting Fantilli and positioning themselves to get a good crack at Bedard.
Philly might look at players like this, but not until they land some high-end prospects.

I don't believe a trade request was put in directly but I wonder if a straws are starting to be drawn.

I just said in the other thread that I wondered how long until Walsh chimed in

Is there a scenario where both the team and player could get together and mutually terminate the contract? Obviously there'd be a risk to Huby not getting as big of a contract elsewhere - but I imagine he'd be happier taking a shot somewhere else at this point?

Fire drills out there requiring minions?
Tristan Jarry badly hurt and backup is already on IR. Some dude named Magnus is the starting goalie
Carolina needs goaltending badly. Raanta is healthy but that never lasts. Halak? Relic.
Boston blueline is banged up. But what room to they have.
And Capitals just put Backstrom on LTIR and have like $10mm of space now and need someone to set up Ovi.

I would really appreciate that Gallagher and Anderson for Huberdeau idea panning out. Dare to dream boys, dare to dream.

I hate to say it, but I gotta agree with you
I was very optimistic when we got him, always liked the player
but
there's been nothing but trouble and drama since we acquired him and it appears to be getting worse.

If we're trading with Montreal, I want Monahan back. I don't care if he's injured all the time.

Huberdeau for Draisaitl! Edmonton gets term for a player to replace Leon who is no doubt planning his exit in 2025, and Calgary gets a first-line star who can put in the work for the next two seasons and get a shot at resigning (for a higher price, likely).
DO IT HOLLAND!
