i actually moved on to dynasty mode in nhl. thats been a lot funner for me.
as far as cp, i was sick of getting trolled so i quit posting here. the ignorance and red wings hatred is just too pathetic to take part.
personally, i am super excited about nhl 10. i don't know what i will do about playing online. i loved the fatas and we played a lot of games together. but, personally, i think the team had identity issues. because we were just an open club that took its base from CP, we ended up with players that all wanted something different out of the team. so for me, i have to figure out what i want from a team and find a team that fits my needs.
also - marriage and such went great. had a great honeymoon and life is grand! if only i didn't have to watch the stupid penguins win the cup a week before it! wings choked big time!
Don't worry for NHL 10 I think we'll want to have a team that can be competitive (or those that want to be part of it) so team identity and teamwork is going to be a necessity if we're gonna play up to our potential.
Plus we need a 3rd string goalie.

Dobbles, good to hear from you my friend.
I was saddened to see CPfatas.com taken down...I went there last night hoping to have a staring contest with Rico.
One thing I am encouraged to hear is that this year there will be "hardcore" and "casual" leagues in the EASHL (can't remember where I read/heard it though). I was thinking it might be a cool idea, if there are CP teams again (and I hope there are) to have one team in each league...with people moving back and forth if their desires change.
We had/have a lot of good players on CP, and could probably challenge the elite teams if we iced a team of only the best.

Holy Christ he lives! Congrats on the marriage. Marriage is possibly the biggest step that doesn't involve video game hockey that a man can take.
First thing I thought of when Detroit went down 2-0 in the final game was "oh damn Dobbles is going to be choked".
We should maybe considering having a B squad that just plays for laughs. I love a good competition, but I seem to recall laughing a lot more during the losses than the wins. Maybe somebody can dig up WhiteTom to play with us (I know you're reading this!).

We were Div 1 briefly when the only people playing earlier in the year were Joborule, Dobbles, Koop, StMerc, CalgaryFlame and myself. This is what I consider the core to a CP competitive team, simply because we've played the most games together and we achieved success together. Now, with that being said, that doesn't mean others are excluded or even that these players will want to play competitively in NHL 10. That's just how it worked out historically.
Congrats on the wedding Dobbles, glad to hear that you are doing well. It's been a lot quieter around here without you!
I'd like to think everyone has improved and we're starting to get to the point were we can mix it up now. Last night proved it when both Flame and I sat out and let the remaining crew take us back to div 2.
Of course with NHL10 I expect new people to join but now there's casual and competitive modes for EASHL. I'm still hoping for a scrimmage or practice mode.
Next stop Div 1

Well practice mode would be a bunch of us playing Comm

I'm talking more like drills and stuff like in single player. Like Jobo in net and we all take turns taking shots, maybe add some defenders etc. We can practice our pp/pk etc. I guess we could do that in community, but it'd be nice to have an easier way...setting up a community game with a large group takes a long time and those grades count so if one team gets blown out...

I have really matured as a player from my penalty filled rookie start.
I'd love to be a part of a competitive team. With this year's game rewarding physicality, I will finally be able to play my game; lunch bucket physical brand.

Man, all you former players talking about this game makes me so pumped for NHL 10...it's gonna be real fun.
Oh yea, with all the new goalie controls, I am definitely up to try being 4th string :P
