Love the Blasty logo, really don't like the striping or the bottom of the jersey. Just too much black. Wish they went with horizonal, thicker striping, and a colour accent on the shoulders.
I think the reason the Flames didn’t do a crazy reverse theme (yellow or white Jersey) like some teams is that they see this jersey eventually replacing our red jersey with the black C as our third.
Hopefully that’s true because these are beautiful. Will be even better on the ice

Sounds as if there may be a curve ball (if you assume black socks and gloves and pants) for the rest of the uniform.
The actual kit, what the players are going to be wearing with the pants and the socks and everything, it actually looks even better,” promised Ryan Popowich, the Flames’ director of marketing and promotions. “We’re probably more excited about when it finally gets on the ice and into a game, because the guys are going to look awesome. The team is going to look incredible. I think we have the best kit.
“It’s sort of the final part of the story and we have to sit on that for a while. But I can’t wait until they get the wear ’em in a game.”
I always liked the Blasty shoulder patch more on the white jersey than on the red because of the white area around the actual logo.
I think this jersey would look better with the logo stitched right on to the black without the white outline.
Agreed. And as I said in a previous post, there were some (errors) on early versions of the 2003/4 red jerseys that had Blasty with no white outline. We talked about in CP way way back then.
Why did it even have that big white outline on a black jersey back in 1998? Less advanced manufacturing processes?

I just talked to Ryan about this — they're looking at using the old pedestal pants with the jersey. The only holdup is the potential logistical hurdle of adding a third set of pants into the equation.
The pants in this graphic are what I'm referring to.

Sans the white stripe, since that's not a stripe of the current jersey? Logistically it shouldnt be an issue, they could just wear a thin shell over the existing black pants, as has been done other times, like the Heritage Classic.

No, including the white stripe.
Apparently, it is a logistical issue.
