The Avs are actually over-committing a lot to the Flames players but they're just not hard enough on the puck to take advantage. There's space to be had.

Ya, when Gaudreau is on, he's magical. But I argue that he's not capable of being so because he can't adjust to how tight checking these games become, thus he looks fairly pedestrian.
You need consistency, and be able to do what you normally do even when the defense becomes tighter, to be a impact player.
