They could go something like 4-4-1 over their next nine if everything clicks but after that they have
Stars
Avs
golden Knights
Stars
Canucks
Wild
Hurricanes
Devils
Avs
Golden knights
Wild
Lightning
Panthers
That stretch of 13 games should seal the decision making process for these Pollyanna management types. They could be 12 to 15 games under .500 by that point.
As long as they make no signings and trade no picks or prospects before then we should be fine.

Wonder what the record cutoff needs to be to swing one way or the other.
Which way does going .500 over November push them? It would put them at 9-14-1, 19/48 points.
Have to think they would start selling... right?...

You're forgetting to account for the inevitable 10-2 run they'll go on in February.

Wait a second...I thought players love low taxes and winning!

They're still a contender! Maybe trade coronato for duclair to help out Hubby and trade our first rounder for some help on D.

Dark horse suiter for hanifin might be the ilse. They want someone to play with pulock on the second pairing, and push Romanov down. They can fit him in if 50% is retained and bolduc sent down.
They are unhappy with Oliver wahlstrom not taking a step, and have a couple of defensive prospects, maybe Robin Salo. Add to that, their 1st.

Considering they thought Romanov & a 4th was worth the 13 OA...

Islanders have an interesting prospect in D Calle Odelius, a second-rounder from 2022 (#65). He’s more of a solid 2-way contributor than a run-and-gun offensive guy, who is the typical Swede- good skater, stickhandler, and skilled. I thought he would get picked higher, but he’s more of a B prospect with potential for more. He might be a good + in any trade package with the Isles. Just throwing out a little tidbit.

Push Romanov down?
Can we start selling our players when they are worth a first round pick please?

Another interesting tidbit is that the Blues are playing Scott perunovich as their 7th defenseman, because he won't clear waivers to be sent down.
If the Flames rebuild, I'd throw them something for perunovich.

In a way. I don’t think he’s as offensively inclined though. I think he’s a tad more like Hanifin. He’ll get you 30-40 points in his prime (if he develops) while providing good puck movement and two-way play.
TJ Brodie, maybe?
